Bits & Bites

Michel Arnette of Word of Mouth Restaurants plans to open his latest restaurant, Arnette's Chop Shop, Friday Thursday, May 25 24 on Apple Valley Road in Brookhaven.  The restaurant anchors the new Apple Valley Brookhaven development.  Arnette's joins fellow Word of Mouth concepts HAVEN, Valenza, and Vero, all located on Dresden Drive in Brookhaven.
SoulCycle plans to open its first Atlanta studio Saturday May 12 at The Shops Around Lenox adjacent to Lenox Square in Buckhead.  The 3,128 square foot studio will house 56 bikes and an expansive lifestyle boutique selling SoulCycle’s original performance and athleisure collections.  SoulCycle classes in Georgia cost $30.

Public Bar & Kitchen has added brunch service to their new Phipps Plaza location.  The brunch menu, available Saturdays and Sundays from 11-3, includes the “Brunch Bowl” with crispy potatoes topped with dry aged beef tips, scrambled eggs and a cherry pepper relish, as well as more simple offerings like eggs baked in a flavorful tomato sauce, served with crusty bread. In addition, guests can choose from a variety of cocktails including the Bloody Mary or a savory bacon “Old Fashioned.”

J. Christopher's Reveille Café plans to open a new location on Dallas Highway in West Cobb.  The new restaurant will open in the Publix anchored West Cobb Marketplace in a 3,800 square foot space previously home to Stevi B's Pizza Buffet.  Stevi B's closed this past November and sources say the breakfast eatery was quick to express interest in the space.  The space was originally to open as a J. Christopher's, but owner Jeff (Jay) McCann opted to open Reveille Café in the space instead.  McCann has an ownership stake in both breakfast-centric concepts.  The first J. Christopher's opened in 1997 and there are now about 20 locations between Georgia and Tennessee.  Reveille Café was launched in Acworth in 2012, and now has a total of four locations open.  Referred to as a "coffeehouse cafe,"  Reveille Café offers a menu similar to J. Christopher's, and like its sibling eatery, is open for breakfast and lunch only.  The new location will mark the third location for the chain in Cobb County joining the original restaurant in Acworth and another in Marietta near Lassiter High School.  The group's other two locations are in Johns Creek and Sugar Hill.  The new West Cobb Reveille Café is expected to open in late July or early August.

F& H Food Trading Group plans to open their new Little Alley Steak in Buckhead's One Alliance Center Monday, May 14.  ToNeTo Atlanta was first to report on the planned restaurant in 2016 after which its opening was delayed a number of times for unspecified reasons.  Business partners Fikret Kovac and Hicham Azhari opened the original Little Alley Steak on Canton Street in historic downtown Roswell in 2012.

Franchisees Briann and Melissa Welborn, who opened the Gainesville Uncle Maddio's Pizza in late 2014, and became the third owner of the Buford location in early 2017, are reopening the shuttered Newnan location.  The Newnan location, located on Newnan Crossing Bypass, closed this past December.   Despite the company's struggles, closures and negative sentiment, the Welborns believe their customer service and "superior" product will win over customers.  The announcement of the imminent reopening was met with largely positive sentiment on the restaurant's Facebook page with  Jayme G. saying  "Seriously!!!! I haven’t been this excited in a long time (even more than I am for my Disney trip in a week). Thank you!!"  Richie S. saying "Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy"    Beth B saying  "Yes, so happy. I have missed my favorite pizza."  and Stacy O. saying  "I'm so glad your coming back You have been missed !!  😊😊😊."  Time will tell if positive online sentiment will bring success to the restaurant.
