Guy Wong announced in a Facebook post late Tuesday night that he plans to close his popular Old Fourth Ward restaurant Miso Izakaya July 28. The restaurant, which has been in business 10 years, opened before the recent wave of BeltLine adjacent activity intensified the demand and development around his restaurant. "My lease has come to an end and I was unable to work out terms with the new landlord that would make sense to continue. This has been a difficult decision to make but I am unable to hold on just because of sentimental attachments." Wong will continue to operate a number of other restaurants in Atlanta including Ton Ton Ramen and Yakitori in Ponce City Market and soon Miso Ko, a sushi kiosk in Ponce as well. Wong is also a partner in Vietnamese French restaurant Le Fat on the Westside.
A new Burger King is planned along US Highway 278 in Covington. The new, approximately 3,400 square foot restaurant is being developed by Premier Kings of Georgia, LLC, a division of Montgomery, Alabama-based Burger King franchisee Premier Kings, Inc.
Antico Pizza Napoletana is no longer open in the Delta Sky360 Club at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Levy Restaurants, the primary food-service provider in the stadium, developed "an excellent pizza solution" that now occupies the former Antico spaces. ToNeTo Atlanta was furnished the following statement with regard to the closure of Antico at MBS:
“Antico pizza agreed to a year-to-year contract with Mercedes-Benz Stadium to support the city of Atlanta and Mr. Blank’s amazing stadium. The first year’s contract is up in June and with the Super Bowl and other major events coming to the stadium, Antico felt it could not physically operate all their store locations, as well as the club locations in the stadium on major event days, and ensure the highest level of quality customers have come to expect. We are so grateful and honored to have been a part of history and contributed to the best food and beverage program in the NFL and MLS.”

The company has existing Atlanta area locations in the North Georgia Premium Outlets in Dawsonville, The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta in Woodstock, and Tanger Outlets in Pooler near Savannah.
Nesto's Buckhead, a men's salon previously located at 3005 Peachtree Road (where Modera Buckhead is currently under construction), will soon reopen in a portion of the building at 3651 Piedmont Road. The freestanding building, located near the intersection of Piedmont and Roswell Roads, has for many years been home to a number of mattress retailers, but has been vacant in recent months.
A new Del Taco restaurant is planned for 4525 Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway in Hiram. The new restaurant will open in place of the short-lived Pollo Tropical that operated on the site from May 2016 until it and others around the country closed this past December. As ToNeTo Atlanta reported last month, Del Taco is also opening in place of the former The Counter burger restaurant on Mansell Road in Roswell. Del Taco previously opened a restaurant on Cobb Parkway in Smyrna in place of a former El Pollo Loco.
Fabletics, the women's athletic apparel retailer co-founded by actress Kate Hudson in 2013, plans to open 75 new stores as it ramps up its brick & mortar presence. The brand, born online but now with about 25 stores, announced the plans yesterday but did not reveal when or where the new stores would open.

It's some REALLLLLLLL dumbass landlords in this city. Have fun with your empty space, greedy dungholes.
Lol. They probably aren't too dumb if they figured out a way to own that real estate.
I'm sure they have another tenant lined up to take that space at a higher rent (or better credit) or why would they run off an successful tenant?
If you read Wong's post on FB, the issue is new property ownership that isn't based here in Atlanta. The downside of being a booming city - investor money comes poring in, and then expects to make it all back fast. Unfortunately Miso is just the first of what will probably be a lot of closures in the next few years.
Del Taco closed their East Cobb store this week.
Antico with a crappy excuse forfpulling out of MBS. Just say you weren't making enough money.
