Goin' Coastal announced Monday afternoon via their Facebook page that they plan to close their restaurant on Virginia Avenue in Virginia Highland this Saturday, November 3. The restaurant, which replaced Figo when it opened in 2010, was the sibling of the original Goin' Coastal in downtown Canton which opened in 2006. The upscale casual seafood restaurant prided itself on offering only sustainable seafood.
"To our friends and family of our Atlanta location: With a heavy heart we unfortunately announce that our Goin Coastal in Virginia Highlands will be closing after this Saturday, November 3rd. We have loved serving this wonderful community for the past 8 years and truly appreciate all of the special memories and friendships that were made! We hope to see you all this week for one last hurrah and to have the chance to personal thank you all for the support over the years. Sincerely, The Goin Coastal Team."
Goin' Coastal is the second intown seafood restaurant to announce their planned closure following news that downtown's Legal Seafood intends to close December 18 after about ten years in business.
