Chamblee-based Pho 24, an eatery offering traditional Vietnamese fare, plans to open a new location in Decatur in the coming weeks. The new 3,000 square foot restaurant, located at 1248 Clairmont Road in the Emory Walk shopping center, will open in place of what was most recently Sotolero Comida Mexicana, a Mexican restaurant. The new Decatur area restaurant will be the ninth in metro Atlanta for the growing chain of Vietnamese restaurants.
Pho 24's opening in the Decatur area comes on the heels of Pho King's opening on West Ponce de Leon Avenue in Decatur, and Vietvana's recent opening on East College Avenue in Avondale Estates. Like Pho 24, both Pho King and Vietvana opened in place of shuttered restaurants: Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe and Our Way Cafe, respectively.
The owners of Pho 24 have been especially active in recent months, swooping into several second generation restaurant spaces across metro Atlanta. The Pho 24 in Sandy Springs at the corner of Hammond Drive and Roswell Road opened in place of Rize Artisan Pizza, while the one in Smyrna at the corner of Windy Hill and Atlanta Roads opened in place of Opa Greek Village Taverna. The Pho 24 at Atlantic Station replaced former Raving Brands concept Boneheads.
In the addition to the Decatur area location, Pho 24 has a second Duluth location coming soon to Venture Drive near Gwinnett Place Mall, as well as an international expansion with a location in Turks & Caicos. Sources also tell ToNeTo Atlanta that Pho 24 is scouting a former Kennesaw restaurant for a new location.
What is your favorite Vietnamese eatery? Where would you like to see Pho 24 open next? What type of restaurant do you think is missing from the Decatur area?
