A growing chain of trampoline facilities is entering the Atlanta market. Altitude Trampoline Park, based in Southlake, Texas, will open a new location behind Parkaire Landing shopping center in East Cobb. The new Altitude will open in the roughly 30,000 square foot building that previously housed the Marietta Ice Center. The Ice Center, which opened in the early 1970s as part of what was then Parkaire Mall, changed hands earlier this year, but closed a short time later.
Inside a typical Altitude Trampoline Park |
Plans call for the former ice skating facility to be altered and renovated to suit the needs of the new trampoline park. Typical Altitude facilities feature trampoline-based dodge ball and basketball, foam pits, and a variety of activities such as its Kids Court, Tumble Tracks, Wipeout, a High 9 Reaction Wall, a ninja course, and even a “Warped Wall."
Altitude, and facilities like it, have been popular replacements for shuttered big box and grocery stores across metro Atlanta and the country.
Rockin' Jump, based in Pleasanton, California, opened a franchise along Cumberland Boulevard in Smyrna in place of an anchor space in Cumberland Crossing most recently home to bankrupt electronics retailer hhgregg.
Altitude also opened in a former hhgregg last fall in Gastonia, North Carolina. The Gastonia location, though, was in the news earlier this summer for an unfortunate death that occurred at the facility.
Xdrenaline, another facility, has just one location, but it's about 6.5 miles from the upcoming Altitude at 1611 Roswell Road.
Los Angeles-based Sky Zone, another similar facility, operates several Atlanta area locations including those in Kennesaw, Roswell and Suwanee.
Do you already miss Marietta Ice Center in the community? Are you excited for the opening of Altitude Trampoline Park in East Cobb? If you've been to more than one trampoline facility, which has been your (or your kids) favorite?

Huge win for East Cobb. Great location.
There's a really nice ice rink that just opened up this month in N. Marietta off of Barrett Pkwy and there's another nice rink in Sandy Springs at Roswell Rd and 285. While this one is closer to us, it was a gloomy rink with bad ice and it won't be missed.
As a native Atlantan who enjoys recreational skating, it was a blow to lose the Parkaire rink. Except for 1, the ice rinks available are in somewhat remote locations for in-town residents such as myself. And they say Atlanta is an "international" city.
This will be a great addition to our community! The old rink wasn't meeting our family's expectations so very happy to hear about Altitude coming to East Cobb!
Kind of ironic name considering the site where Parkaire Mall sits used to be an actual airfield up until the late 60s early 70s...
We're very excited for our new neighbors. A great addition to Parkaire and East Cobb!

Is there any contact info for the owner or mgmt of the new location planned for Marietta?
