[COMING SOON] A New Opportunity to Love That Chicken From Popeyes

A new Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen restaurant is planned for Tucker near Stone Mountain.  The new Popeyes, to be built at 1690 Mountain Industrial Boulevard, would occupy a currently wooded lot not far from where a new Hardee's opened in 2017.   The Hardee's, at 1727 Mountain Industrial Boulevard, adjacent to Stars & Strikes, debuted in December 2017.

The new 2,145 square foot Popeyes will sit on a one acre parcel and sport the chain's current, more contemporary design elements.

Popeyes, riding a wave of renewed interest in the storied chain following the viral hit of their recently launched and promptly sold-out chicken sandwich, has been busy over the past several years opening new locations in the greater metro Atlanta area.

The chain opened a new location on Highway 5 in Douglasville in 2012, Moreland Avenue in East Atlanta in 2013, and on LaVista Road near Northlake Mall in 2014

More recently, the chain has added new restaurants on Highway 27 in Carrollton in 2017, Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw in 2018, and on Highway 27 in Bremen earlier this year.

The chain is also underway with at least two more locations, one on GA 34/54 near the new Costco in Peachtree City/Sharpsburg, and another on Lafayette Parkway near LaGrange Mall in LaGrange

Locations previously planned for Peachtree Boulevard across from Chamblee Plaza in Chamblee and on North Druid Hills Road near North DeKalb Mall never came to fruition.

Restaurant Brands International, owner of Burger King, purchased Popeyes in 2017, and in 2018 moved the chicken chain's headquarters from Dunwoody to Miami, where it joined its burger brethren.  Collectively, Popeyes has more than 3,100 units around the world.

Did you get to try the Popeyes chicken sandwich before it sold out?  What is your favorite fast food chicken chain?  Where would you like to see Popeyes open next?

Please share your thoughts below.

I did not go fight the mayhem for a chicken sandwich but Popeyes is definitely my favorite of the "bone-in" chicken restaurants. I will certainly their spicy sandwich a try once all the hype dies down and I am able to buy one in under 10 minutes!

I remember sending corporate a message in 2018 about a possible location in that area, but got no response. The Hardee"s that's across the street from where this will be located has little to no customers. Maybe it's their location, or it just might be the food.🤔 However I don't think it was my actual message that got this underway, but I do expect big business from day one trust me. From Memorial Dr. to Hugh Howell rd.the only major food restaurants you have are 2 McDonald's, and the Hardee's that's across the street. With a well diverse community through out Tucker, and Stone Mountain you guys are set to make a killing. The people of Tucker and Stone Mountain are looking forward to this...P.S. feel free to contact me for employment opportunities, I could definitely use employment at this up and coming location. Thanks a lot and good luck👍🏿

The more they develop this area the better. Now we just need more residential places in the area to make it feel like an actual community and not so industrial!
