[EXCLUSIVE] Indian Eatery Hyderabad House Opening Soon in Dunwoody

A new Indian eatery will soon open in Dunwoody.  Hyderabad House is slated to open soon in the former Applebee's at the Super Target anchored Perimeter Place shopping center.  Applebee's closed in April 2017 and its roughly 5,300 square foot freestanding space has sat vacant in the years since.  Hyderabad House, is named for Hyderabad, the capital and largest city of Telangana in south-central India.

The Plano, Texas-based chain already has 26 locations in the U.S., according to its website with at least two more - Columbia, Maryland and Parsipanny, New Jersey - coming soon.  The chain operates seven locations in its home state of Texas and also two locations in the south in Memphis, Tennessee and Morrisville, North Carolina.

Hyderabad House is a full-service Indian eatery specializing in south Indian cuisine with a menu offering assorted soups, Tandoor sizzlers, dosas, vegetarian and non vegetarian entrees, biryanis, thalis and a desi bar, among other features.

The owners of Hyderabad House had hoped to be open in October, then November, and are now targeting a December opening.  Given the holidays, it's possible the restaurant won't actually open until 2020.

Hyderabad House is the second new restaurant slated to open at Perimeter Place.  ToNeTo Atlanta reported November 15 that New York-based The Hummus & Pita Co. will be opening its first Atlanta area franchise in Perimeter Point.  The new restaurant, which replaced the failed Boneheads eatery, should open early next year.

Have you ever been to a Hyderabad House restaurant?  Are you excited for the new options coming to Perimeter Place? What is your current favorite Atlanta area Indian eatery?

Please share your thoughts below.

Never heard of the chain but hopefully it's fairly authentic. There's a very large Indian community right in the area so the opportunity is certainly there for them.

That building has been empty for a long time but not nearly as long as the Cheeseburger In Paradise spot.....I'm wondering if that space will ever be filled.

Appears to be a lower-end target than the nearby Viceroy restaurant, which is nice. Good to have something in that spot again.
