[EXCLUSIVE] McCray's Tavern to Open New Restaurant in Familiar Space

The owners of McCray's Tavern have secured space in East Cobb for their fourth Atlanta area location.  The new McCray's will open in the Kroger-anchored Parkaire Landing shopping center along Johnson Ferry Road in East Cobb.  The new restaurant will be about 6,400 square feet and replace Loyal Tavern, the brief successor to Loyal Q & Brew, which closed last June

Established in 2007, McCray's is described as a "classic American tavern."  The new McCray's joins existing locations of the casual restaurant in Midtown, Lawrenceville and Smyrna.

McCray's, part of Atlanta-based LEAD [Let's Eat And Drink] Hospitality Group, owns several other concepts, too, including Foxtrot Liquor Bar and Tiki Tango Hideaway Oasis in Midtown, and The Mill Kitchen & Bar in Roswell.

Randy McCray, one of two brothers behind the restaurant group, this past November purchased the longstanding Shillings on the Square restaurant in Marietta.  After 41 years as Shillings, the group is planning to convert it into a steak and seafood establishment called Mac’s Chophouse, also slated to open in the spring.

At Parkaire Landing, McCray's joins Flying Biscuit Cafe as new dining options coming to the popular suburban shopping center already home to Moe's Southwest Grill and Ted's Montana Grill, among others.  Private equity-backed Jamestown - owners of Ponce City Market, among other assets -  purchased Parkaire Landing and its approximately 19 acres for $42.1 million ($261 per square foot) in early 2018.

McCray's East Cobb is expected to open later this spring.

Are you excited for the opening of McCray's Tavern in East Cobb?  What else would you like to see open at Parkaire Landing?  What is your favorite East Cobb area restaurant?

I remember when Parkaire Landing was Parkaire Mall, I used to ice skate inside the mall in the late 1970's. Glad the new Parkaire Landing is doing so well, I remember when they tore the mall down in 1986.
