[EXCLUSIVE] Bezoria to Open New Restaurants in Toco Hills & Duluth

The owners of Mediterranean fast casual eatery Bezoria Mideast Street Eats plan to open two new locations later this summer.  One, slated for Toco Hills, will replace The Local Pizzaiolo, which closed quietly this past November after about two years in business.  A second, planned for Duluth, will open at Mall Corners, a large shopping center along Pleasant Hill Road, across from Gwinnett Place Mall.

Bezoria's Toco Hills location will be corporately owned whereas the Duluth store will be the chain's first franchised unit.  The Duluth store is more compact, a mere 1,800 square feet, compared to the 2,400 square foot Toco Hills outpost.

Yogi Patel, one of concept's co-founders, is very familiar with Toco Hill Promenade, having previously owned the Uncle Maddio's Pizza franchise in the center.

Patel along with Imtiaz Ramzan and chef Nasser Amer opened the first Bezoria on Peachtree Street in Midtown in 2014.  The trio later opened a pair of additional locations, first at The Atwater, a small plaza across from Avalon in Alpharetta in 2017 and later at Cumberland Mall near Smyrna in 2018.  The Midtown location closed December 31 to make way for a huge 33-story, 417 unit multifamily development from Chicago-based  CA Ventures.  Ramzan tells ToNeTo Atlanta that he and his partners are actively looking for a new Midtown location.

The Local Pizzaiolo, once with two units open and a total of four leases signed, never really caught on with diners. The West Midtown location closed this past February, reopening in November as the second outpost of Malaysian eatery Food Terminal.  The Toco Hills location, the would-be chain's original, had been for sale before the owners decided to simply close it.

ToNeTo Atlanta was first made aware of the possibility of Bezoria taking over in October but the deal was reportedly "not looking good" as of November.  Clearly things changed for the better as Bezoria is now listed as a tenant in the former pizza space on the official Toco Hills shopping center site plan from owner Edens.

Bezoria - with hummus bowls, rice bowls falafel sandwiches and shawarmas - features a decidedly different menu than that of fellow quick serve Mediterranean eatery Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe but it's still worth mentioning that they will now both be in Toco Hills Promenade.  [Taziki's opened at Toco Hills in 2016 where Patel's Uncle Maddio's previously operated.]

Are you excited for the opening of Bezoria in Toco Hills and Duluth?  What is your favorite Toco Hills area eatery?  Where would you like to see Bezoria open next?

"The Local Pizzaiolo, which closed quietly this past November"

How did they close quietly when they have been trying to sell their business and sublet their lease for over a year?

Bezoria is hands down better than Taziki’s and should hold up well in both neighborhoods

When is the Tocco Hills location expected to open? I'm tired of stalking the shopping center and my Uber Eats app! ;)
