[CLOSED & OPENING] Chicken Salad Replacing Burgers in Suwanee

Cheeseburger Bobby's has closed its location at Johns Creek Town Center in Suwanee.  The 2,500 square foot restaurant closed within the past week, according to local sources.  By Wednesday, all signage had been removed and there was little evidence of what just days earlier had been a functioning restaurant.  The Suwanee closure is at least the third, following prior closures in Calhoun and in north Buckhead near Chastain Park.
Locally based Cheeseburger Bobby's was started by brothers Richard & Bobby Stoll in 2007.  The brothers previously started and grew Stevi B's The Ultimate Pizza Buffet, a chain similar to CiCi's Pizza, to 28 locations before selling it to Argonne Capital Group in 2008.  Today, the chain is down to just eighteen units.  Bobby Stoll remains at the helm of Cheeseburger Bobby's with eleven locations in Georgia and twelfth in Decatur, Alabama.  Richard left the burger business and started Huey Luey's, a full service Mexican chain with locations in Acworth, Hiram and Sandy Springs.

According to the site plan from Johns Creek Town Center owner Site Centers, a new location of Chicken Salad Chick will open in place of Cheeseburger Bobby's.  Based in Auburn, Alabama, Chicken Salad Chick currently has 27 locations in Georgia and more than 100 throughout sixteen states.

In metro Atlanta, Chicken Salad Chick operates existing locations in Alpharetta, Marietta, Kennesaw and Roswell, among others.  A location in Vinings reopened January 16 after a car ended up in the restaurant January 4 destroying part of their dining room. Another in Sandy Plains in East Cobb has been closed since September 21, 2019 following a reported rodent infestation in a neighboring space and its future remains unclear.

Chicken Salad Chick co-founder Stacy Brown opened "Stacy's Chicken Salad Chick" this past August in Rome.  The freestanding restaurant is meant to serve as a flagship of sorts and news of its opening was one of the most shared stories on ToNeTo Atlanta in our 10+ year history.

There is no official word on how soon the Suwanee Chicken Salad Chick will open, but a summer debut is likely within reach.

Are you disappointed to learn of the closure of Cheesebuger Bobby's?  What is your favorite "better-burger" concept?  Are you excited for the Suwanee debut of Chicken Salad Chick?
