[EXCLUSIVE] Bayou'Q to Open in Former Breastaurant

A new location of Bayou'Q Smokin' Bistreaux & Bar is coming soon to Smyrna.  The new Cajun barbecue restaurant is slated to open in the next sixty days or so in the former Tilted Kilt on Cobb Parkway near Cumberland Mall which closed at the end of 2020 after about eleven years in business.  Bayou'Q describes its cuisine as "Cajun Fare with a Barbecue Flare" and features a mixture of classic barbecue and Cajun offerings including anything from a smoked corned beef Reuben and a pulled pork quesadilla to shrimp & grits and an authentic Nawlins' Po' Boy, among other options.
Restaurant industry veteran Marcus Dickman opened the original Bayou'Q this past July on Canton Street in Historic Downtown Roswell.  The restaurant replaced Grand Champion BBQ.  According to the Bayou'Q website, Dickman has "15 years of restaurant industry experience under his belt, including back and front-of-house positions for Dave & Buster's, California Pizza Kitchen, The Chart House and Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchens."  Dickman partnered with chef Steven Ciliberti to craft the menu for the restaurant.

The pandemic has turned the restaurant industry, especially independent sit-down establishments, into chaos.  For the owners of Bayou'Q to have opened one restaurant during the pandemic and now be preparing to open a second, is nothing short of astonishing... and crazy.  Additionally, the new Smyrna area restaurant measures about 6,600 square feet, more than four times the size of the approximately 1,500 square foot Roswell location.
