[EXCLUSIVE] We Spill The Beans on Where Spiller Park Coffee Will Open Their Third Location

A new location of Spiller Park Coffee will open in the burgeoning "Upper Westside" later this year.  The new coffee shop will open as part of phase 2 of Edens' Moores Mill Publix-anchored development along Marietta Boulevard at Moores Mill Road.  According to recently updated leasing materials, Spiller Park will occupy a 1,405 square foot space in the "300 building" with access and visibility to the greenspace at Novel Upper Westside, the 345 unit multifamily component of the development.

The Upper Westside Spiller Park joins existing locations of the coffee shop in Ponce City Market (PCM) and Toco Hills.  The kiosk in PCM's Central Food Hall opened in October 2015 followed by the more standard space in the "reimagined" Toco Hills which debuted in September 2017

Originally developed and opened as a partnership between celebrity chef and restaurateur Hugh Acheson and coffee guru Dale B. Donchey, the business is today helmed exclusively by Donchey.

Novel Upper Westside, currently at about 36% occupancy, and leased at about 44%, is one of several new or upcoming multifamily developments in the recently coined "Upper Westside" area.  Donchey was likely attracted to the density of the area and the pipeline of additional housing, not to mention the Whetstone Creek trail, part of the PATH Foundation's collection of Northwest Atlanta trails.

Donchey revealed in February he plans to launch a bagel shop too: Dear Friend.  [Dear Friend was registered with the Georgia Secretary of State August 27, 2020.]  The new Spiller Park will be larger than the Toco Hills location and may carry a little more non-coffee food options, but is supposedly not Dear Friend in disguise.

In February, Donchey told Atlanta Magazine he was considering Ponce City Market as well as Mitchell Street downtown as potential "forever homes" for Dear Friend, but as with so much in the world right now, things seem to change almost daily.

In the new phase of Moores Mill, Spiller Park will be joined by a new location of fitness facility F45 as well as several other tenants in as yet unleased spaces.

Are you excited for the opening of Spiller Park Coffee on the Upper Westside?  What is your favorite local coffee shop?  What other types of businesses would you like to see open in Moores Mill?

My wife and I live across the street and are so happy to hear Spiller Park will be joining our neighborhood. We hope they sell bagels from "Dear Friend" there as well!
