Vietnamese eatery Pho King in Decatur has closed. The restaurant, located at 319 West Ponce de Leon Avenue, opened May of 2019, but was listed for sale last July, and according to a source in the area, closed in recent days. The 2,600 square foot restaurant opened as a franchise of Birmingham-based Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe in January 2016 but had remained closed since the Mediterranean eatery closed in May 2018. Local broker The Shumacher Group listed the pho eatery for sale this past July, most recently seeking $99,500 for the business.
An incredibly professional sign posted to the restaurant's front door |
The closure of the Decatur outpost of Pho King leaves the Atlanta-based brand with just one location at The Plaza Midtown - 950 West Peachtree Street - in Midtown. The original Pho King - located at 2021 Peachtree Road in Brookwood Hills, previously changed ownership and rebranded as "Pho Kitchen." The Brookwood Hills restaurant is also listed for sale by The Shumacher Group.
Pho King is the second restaurant to close at 319 West Ponce in Decatur. An outpost of Highland Bakery closed at the development early last year after opening in late 2016.

Now this is a really great pun in the headline. I just felt that you deserved some recognition for it. Carry on.
