Rosati's Chicago Pizza has closed its outpost on Wieuca Road near Chastain Park. The restaurant, which occupied a oft-changing roughly 3,000 square foot building at 4629 Wieuca Road, closed as of January 31, according to signage at the restaurant. Local operator Matt Smith originally opened the Chastain area Rosati's in May 2017. A Cumming location on Peachtree Parkway near The Collection at Forsyth remains open. There are reportedly no plans to reopen the Chastain location elsewhere in the area.
Despite being open for close to five years, a sign posted to the restaurant's front door thanked the community "for the last four years."
Prior to opening as Rosati's, the building was home to Chastain Tavern and before that, a franchise of Twisted Taco. Local sources tell ToNeTo Atlanta that the building was originally constructed as a Dairy Queen more than fifty years ago.
Real estate and other industry sources tell ToNeTo Atlanta that the former Rosati's, which sits on a .61 acre parcel, and the adjacent former Fabricare Cleaners, which sits on .42 acres, were recently sold and together will be redeveloped into condos.
Are you disappointed to see Rosati's closed in Chastain Park? What is your favorite type of pizza? Do you think condos make sense for the former Rosati's property?

Our one experience was terrible, good riddance.
I liked it; sorry to see them go. There is a definite shortage of good pizza options in the area.
What the actual fuck
I really miss the insane variety of beer on tap. At one point there was 105 taps to choose form. I will miss them :(
Devastated ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ whenever we visited family in ATL, I always had to go!! Best deep dish I had ever had.
So disappointed they closed. It was a taste of home, being that I am from Chicago. Please, consider moving to East Cobb in Marietta
It was really good, but they screwed up orders a lot...which is why I'm just finding out it closed.
