[EXCLUSIVE] Italian Automaker to Backfill Tesla With Rare Retail Store at Lenox Square

Newly installed signage indicates Atlanta will soon be home to just the third full line Ferrari store in the United States.  The new Ferrari store will open in the former Tesla space of the Luxury Wing at Lenox Square, situated between CH Carolina Herrera and anchor Neiman Marcus.  Tesla vacated their roughly 3,200 square foot space in 2020 after opening it in late 2014.  The company, however, does continue to offer several Tesla Superchargers at the mall.

Ferrari, perhaps most well known for their sports cars which can range from just over $200,000 to north of $2.3 million, has, like other premium brands, expanded in other consumer categories.  Among the products offered by the Italian company are clothing, shoes and accessories for men, women, babies and kids, as well as model cars of some of Ferrari's most popular vehicles.

There is currently just one Ferrari dealership in Atlanta - Ferrari of Atlanta - on Alpharetta Highway in Roswell.  Ferrari operates fewer than 20 stores worldwide, a dozen of which are in Italy.  In the U.S., the company currently operates stores at Aventura Mall near Miami and Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills as well as an outlet at Woodbury Common Premium Outlets in Central Valley New York.

Simon Property Group, which owns Lenox Square, also owns Woodbury Common and is a 1/3 shareholder in Aventura Mall.

Ferrari's new Lenox Square store is located across the hall from where fellow Italian luxury brand Gucci will later this year debut a second Buckhead boutique, joining the company's existing store at Phipps Plaza.

Despite the erection of a temporary store façade with Ferrari branding and Ferrari listed as "coming soon" on the Lenox Square website, neither Simon nor Ferrari have formally announced the upcoming opening or indicated when the store may debut.

Have you ever been to a Ferrari store?  What are your thoughts on Ferrari opening such a special store in Lenox Square?  What is your favorite sports car manufacturer?
