[ALERT] Nordstrom Rack Opening Fifth Atlanta Area Store

Nordstrom has announced that it will open one of its off-price "rack" stores in Kennesaw. The new Nordstrom Rack will open in Barrett Place, an existing shopping center at 860 Barrett Place Boulevard, just off Ernest Barrett Parkway, not far from Town Center at Cobb.  The new store will replace OfficeMax which is currently open but is slated to close in the coming months.

Seattle-based Nordstrom (NYSE: JWN) operates four Atlanta area locations: Buford, Buckhead, Alpharetta and Dunwoody with Dunwoody being their newest having opened in 2013.  That said, the new Kennesaw outpost will be the chain's smallest in Georgia.  Each of the existing four locations measure between 35,000 and 40,000 square feet, but the new Kennesaw store will be only about 25,000 square feet.  The scaled down store size is likely an indication that the retailer is trying to do more with less.

In addition to the four existing Nordstrom Rack stores in metro Atlanta, the retailer also operates two full-line stores, one in Phipps Plaza in Buckhead, the other in Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody. Nordstrom closed their full line store at Mall of Georgia in Buford in February 2015.

ToNeTo Atlanta reported in 2018 that Nordstrom was looking to open in the OfficeMax in Akers Mill Square near Smyrna but those plans failed to materialize.

Nordstrom Rack joins existing co-anchors Best Buy, Michaels, PetSmart, Duluth Trading Company, Aldi, and Georgia Furniture Mart at Barrett Place in Kennesaw.

According to the press release, the new Kennesaw Nordstrom Rack is slated to open "Spring 2024."

Are you pleased to hear that Nordstrom Rack is coming to Kennesaw?  What is your favorite "off-price" retailer?  What other store or restaurant would you like to see open in Kennesaw?

The Nordstrom television advertising annoys the fire out of me. There is no way I will ever spend one red cent with them.

I like Rack but they are very hit or miss.

Having been in a number of Nordstrom Rack stores as well as their regular locations I hope they make it.

I have not seen anything that I needed or wanted to purchase.

Open Spring of 2024, wow they must be really going to gut the space beyond just the wall studs.
