ToNeTo Atlanta has learned that Raising Cane's plans to open their new Dacula restaurant in March. The restaurant, located at 3485 Braselton Highway between Arby's and Starbucks, was built on the site of a demolished former BB&T bank. ToNeTo Atlanta first reported on the Baton Rouge-based chain's plans to open in metro Atlanta in December 2021 when we exclusively reported on the Raising Cane's planned for Buford Drive near the Mall of Georgia in Buford.
A third Raising Cane's along Highway 92 in Woodstock is still in its pre-construction phase but is slated to open by the end of 2023, according to a Raising Cane's representative.
ToNeTo Atlanta is tracking several additional Raising Cane's restaurants including one close to the perimeter and another that if the stars align, could the first to penetrate the perimeter and actually be within the city of Atlanta.
University of Georgia graduate Todd Graves along with his business partner Craig Silvey opened the first Raising Cane's in Baton Rouge near the LSU campus in 1996. Graves, who worked for Guthrie's (which proudly claims to be "America's Original Chicken Finger Restaurant") while in school in Athens, would later return to the Classic City in 2006 when he opened a new Raising Cane's on land that had been home to Guthrie's from 1984 until its closure in 2004.
Today, there are more than 500 Raising Cane's locations worldwide, but for now, just the one Georgia location in Athens. The company has said it plans to open at least ten locations in Georgia in the coming years.
Raising Cane's Dacula is slated to open March 9.
Are you excited for the opening of Raising Cane's in metro Atlanta? Who do you think makes the best chicken tenders? Where else in metro Atlanta would you like to see Raising Cane's open?

Wake me up when PDQ comes to town. Now THAT's a chicken finger restaurant.
I’ve been dreaming of this day
Woodstock is NOT ATLANTA. They opening all these restaurants the people actually LIVING in atlanta been asking for for forever on the outskirts! We not driving 45 minutes for raising canes yall wanna keep it up north in the white neighborhoods then say that stop saying ATLANTA when its 45 minutes plus from the actually city!
Please consider Forest Park
For a location. We have no decent places to eat.
So excited for the Woodstock location, moved from MN where we had Cane's. They are the best and we miss them
So excited to hear your coming. Are opening up in Stockbridge?
East point GA
Please bring one to Alabama
Chicken is good as long as you use the sauce unless you like unseasoned chicken but that toast is to die for. Also why do companies like this avoid metro Atlanta so such and cater to the more of the suburbs causing people to travel if they want to eat at their restaurants. Just curious
Come to Peachtree/Newnan area!
Bring one to actual Atlanta, those are the suburbs. Thanks!
Want new places in the city? Parent your kids. Teach them to stop participating in crime. Raise the standards, stop lowering them.
I’m sure Woodstock feels the same and doesn’t want to be called Atlanta…!!!
There is at least one in Tuscaloosa. There might be more across Alabama.
Bring one to Mableton
😂😂 imagine the depravity that’s causing you to get angry and racist over chicken tenders. You need to re-evaluate your entire life and thinking 🤣🤣
Ate some Raising Canes in Louisville, Ky....it was delicious 😋.
White neighborhood? Moron.
Cumming Ga!!!!!
Decatur, Ga
Atlanta really needs another chain restaurant. Chicken, how exotic!
Just like Whataburger, on the northside only. 🤷🏼♂️ Folks in Coweta and Fayette like to eat as well.
Come to Alpharetta. We need a good chicken place!!

The crime
Dacula is not a white area. I live in Lawrenceville on the border of Dacula and I'm black. Very excited that it's opening in this area first.
How about Cumming area?
Fayetteville GA PLEASE!!!!
Guthries.....369, exit 18 off of GA 400. In the Walmart shopping center. Not open yet.....
Monroe Ga
Do you actually think anyone is building a new business in the slums ? Lol
Why does this have to turn racist it’s RIDICULOUS!!!
Love RAISING KANE’S♥️
Some of y'all have watched too many Dirty Harry movies, it's not "crime" that's keeping fast food restaurants out of Atlanta proper, it's high rent. Because the land is valuable. Because more people live here. If "crime" was keeping anything out of the inner city it would be fancy restaurants, and it isn't.
Ummm… the title of the article says Atlanta Area. And yes, I agree with all the other people replying to you. Good grief…
Correct.
Covington or Conyers, GA
Snellville please.
Yes!
And YES!!
I love when the ITPers come on here and whine. Cry harder ITPers, maybe you'll get a plant-based chicken restaurant.
