[OPENING ALERT] New Burger Joint Opening Very Soon in Duluth

Duluth will soon gain a new burger destination.  The new LR Burger in Duluth is mere days away from its highly anticipated opening.  The eatery, located in a newly constructed two story building at 3151 Main Street in the heart of downtown Duluth, is currently slated to open Tuesday August 22, according to a restaurant employee.

The menu in Duluth will reportedly be similar to but not an exact duplicate of the group's existing restaurant.  The counter service restaurant features a variety of burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, salads, and sides like hand-cut fries and pork skins, as well as assorted milkshakes. The restaurant also features a variety of Boozy Shakes, Adult Slushies, cocktails on tap, and a rotating variety of draft beers.

The new two story building in Duluth will feature LR Burger on the ground floor and LR Bar on the open-air 2nd floor with scenic views of the Town Green.

The Duluth outpost in Gwinnett County marks the second location for the locally owned burger joint, joining one in Monroe.  The original LR Burger opened in October 2019 in a converted former gas station in Monroe, a small but growing community between Lawrenceville and Athens.  Both eateries are siblings of Local Republic on North Perry Street on the square in downtown Lawrenceville.  The Local Restaurant Group, the parent company of Local Republic and LR Burger, also operates a pair of taco joints: Strange Taco Bar - with physical locations in Lawrenceville and Monroe in addition to a food truck.

Local Restaurant Group is owned and managed by Ben Bailey and Chris Collin with business partner Gary Martin Hays (yes, that Gary Martin Hays).  Both Bailey and Collin grew up in Gwinnett County. Bailey is a graduate of Shiloh High School, Collin a graduate of South Gwinnett High School.

Have you been to Local Republic or LR Burger?  Are you excited for the opening of LR Burger in Duluth?  What other restaurants would you like to see open in Duluth?

Yes. But it doesn’t matter who. Just tell them you mean business.

"Gourmet Burgers" by "Celebrity" chefs. "Craft" Cocktails made by "Mixologists". No, you're still just a cook and a bartender. Deal with it.

Just say “we have sandwiches and drinks.” That’s enough.
