[EXCLUSIVE] Growing Coffee Shop Has Something Brewing in Buckhead

A new coffee shop is coming to Chastain Park in north Buckhead.  PERC Coffee, a Savannah-based roaster which entered metro Atlanta in 2020, plans to open its latest metro outpost at the edge of Buckhead and Sandy Springs in Chastain Park in 2024.  The coffee purveyor reportedly executed its lease recently, but has not yet publicized the new unit.

The new shop will open in the Fresh Market anchored Roswell-Wieuca Shopping Center (4365 Roswell Road) in a space most recently home to Pita Grille.  The popular kosher Israeli restaurant closed in the early months of the pandemic in 2020 and its 1,635 square foot space has sat vacant since.  Prior to Pita Grille, a frozen yogurt shop, Swirll, failed in the FroYo frenzy of yesteryear.

PERC's location is definitely not the most ideal as it lacks visibility from Roswell Road, but its opening along Wieuca Road will provide a captive audience once the new BamBoo Car Wash opens on the site of the former Rosati's.

According to the PERC website, the shop features not only assorted coffee drinks but also a variety of foods like waffles, bagels, an egg n'cheese, and even a granola bowl, all foods currently offered at longtime tenant Goldberg's, so their menu may be tweaked for the Chastain Park location.

When it opens, it will likely mark PERC's fifth in metro Atlanta joining existing outposts in Grant Park, Virginia-Highland and East Lake as well as an under-construction location on Main Street in Tucker.  the company is currently hiring for the Tucker shop but it's unclear how soon it will actually open.

PERC's addition to the Chastain Park / North Buckhead / Sandy Springs area will likely be welcomed by many area coffee drinkers as the neighborhood is without any local coffee shops. That said, Mend Coffee & Goods is also opening in the area with plans to debut in early 2024 in the former Marcello's Pizza & Subs in nearby Tuxedo Festival.

Roswell-Wieuca, a 74,370-square-foot center, was earlier this April sold to Nuveen Real Estate.  The addition of PERC is the first new lease under the new ownership.  Another space recently became available, too, with the abrupt closure of The Amazing Lash Studio and its nearly 2,400 square foot space.

Are you excited for the opening of PERC in Chastain Park?  What is your favorite local coffee shop?  Where else would you like to see PERC open?

Goldberg’s is barely average at what they offer, so it should not be that hard to sell similar menu items that are superior.

This is so very true. Great coffee shops north in Roswell and south heading into town, but there's a baron wasteland of local coffee shops in Sandy Springs/North Buckhead ITP.
