[EXCLUSIVE] Sugar Shane's Opening First Franchise in February

Kennesaw area residents are in for a sweet treat!  Sugar Shane's, a popular intown cookie shop, has signed their first franchise with plans to open near Kennesaw Mountain in February.  The new shop - 1635 Old Highway 41 - is located in a 1,253 square foot space in the Publix-anchored Barrett Parkway shopping center.  

Shane Quillin launched the local business during the pandemic, offering cookies from his home with a limited delivery radius.  The cookies - oversized and suitable for two - became incredibly popular and Quillin soon opened a small shop along 14th Street in Home Park during the summer of 2021.  A second location opened at the shops at Arabelle Perimeter, a midrise apartment building at the corner of Peachtree Dunwoody Road and Hammond Drive, in July 2022.  This past March, Quillin added another intown shop when he scored space in the central food hall at Ponce City Market.  

The new Kennesaw shop, formerly Bourbon Street Ice, is being opened by local Marietta area residents James and Zalika Dozier who also own a pair of Pelican's SnoBalls locations in Cobb county.  

The new location will pilot several new offerings including coffee from Smyrna's own Bolivar Coffee, special cookies and cookie cakes exclusive to Kennesaw, as well as other baked goods that will be introduced in the months to come.  

Quillin and the Doziers are both looking to open additional locations in metro Atlanta but are being incredibly selective about where to do so.  Growth will for the time being be centered on metro Atlanta, but Quillin seems open to also exploring options in rural/suburban areas across portions of Georgia and neighboring states.

Sugar Shane's Kennesaw is slated to open Saturday February 1017.
