[OPENING ALERT] Raising Cane's to Debut Latest Atlanta Area Location This Month

Raising Cane's is slated to open its latest metro Atlanta location in February.  The new restaurant, on which ToNeTo Atlanta first reported October 2022, is opening at 9893 Hwy 92 in Woodstock.  Raising Cane's redeveloped two parcels to make way for their roughly 2,700 square foot restaurant.  The primary parcel was most recently home to a Velox insurance office but was built as Mrs. Winner's Chicken & Biscuits.

For those unfamiliar - aka non "Caniacs" -  of which there don't seem to be many, Raising Cane's features a very simple menu with a focus on fried chicken tenders.  Menu offerings also include a fried chicken sandwich, crinkle-cut fries, Texas Toast, and coleslaw, an item famously eliminated from the menu at rival Chick-fil-A in early 2016.

Highway 92 in Woodstock has been especially active with restaurant development in recent years including the debut of a new, rebuilt, and renamed Truett's Chick-fil-A (formerly The Dwarf House) as well as a new Whataburger.

The new Cane's marks the third unit to open in metro Atlanta in the past year following the opening last March in Dacula and in Buford near the Mall of Georgia last August.   The Baton Rouge-based company also operates a restaurant in Athens and has additional Atlanta area locations planned for Pleasant Hill Road, just off I-85, in front of Gwinnett Place Mall in Duluth and another along Scenic Highway in Snellville, both in Gwinnett County.

ToNeTo Atlanta is tracking several additional Raising Cane's restaurants in metro Atlanta but knows of a least two planned locations, including one ITP, that failed to materialize.

University of Georgia graduate Todd Graves, along with his business partner Craig Silvey, opened the first Raising Cane's in Baton Rouge near the LSU campus in 1996.  Graves, who worked for Guthrie's (which proudly claims to be "America's Original Chicken Finger Restaurant") while in school in Athens, would later return to the Classic City in 2006 when he opened a new Raising Cane's on land that had been home to Guthrie's from 1984 until its closure in 2004.

The company in 2023 surpassed 700 Raising Cane's restaurants across 37 states.  In 2022, the company said it planned to open at least ten locations in Georgia in the coming years.  The company's current pipeline could put them halfway to that goal by the end of 2024.

According to a Raising Cane's customer service representative, the new Woodstock location is currently on track to open February 27 13 27!

Are you excited about the opening of Raising Cane's in Woodstock?  Who do you think makes the best chicken tenders?  Where else in metro Atlanta would you like to see Raising Cane's open?

Very happy to see Cane's opening in Woodstock.

Stopped by one of their locations in Gulfport, MS and was impressed with the food, level of service.

Have dined at other locations and always left happy.

Zaxby's quality and level of service has slipped many notches and I have stopped eating at Zaxby's.

CFA food prices have gone way up and service has been hit and mostly a miss.
