[ALERT] Popular Donut Shop Opening New Store with Special BBQ Collab

The wait is nearly over.  After several unspecified setbacks, the newest local outpost of  The Salty is expected to open Friday, February 23 at Star Metals in West Midtown.  The new outpost is the third in Atlanta for the growing Florida-based chain.

ToNeTo Atlanta was informed of the planned opening earlier this month but opted to wait to double confirm the opening as delays have plagued so many lately.  Fortunately, waiting has allowed us to deliver even more delicious news!

In celebration of its latest opening, The Salty has partnered with Atlanta's own Fox Bros. BBQ to create a Mac n Cheese kolache.  The special item, available only at the new West Midtown shop from February 23rd through 25th, features The Salty's 24-hour brioche stuffed with Fox Bros BBQ pulled pork, cheddar mac n cheese, and famous BBQ sauce.

The Salty West Midtown is located at 1050 Howell Mill Road #101, behind Northside Tavern and in the same complex as Sweetgreen, Savi Provisions, and until recently, Wagamama.  Although it has a Howell Mill Road address, The Salty is not visible from Howell Mill as it's hidden behind landmark dive bar Northside Tavern.

The bakery's menu focuses primarily on assorted donuts but other baked goods include a cherry pie pop tart and cinnamon crunch cookie.  The shop also features a robust variety of coffee options from Espressos and Americanos to cold brew and assorted lattes.

Established in the trendy Miami neighborhood of Wynwood in 2015, The Salty has today grown to more than a dozen locations including those in Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Atlanta, Charlotte, and even as far west as Dallas and Austin.  The company entered metro Atlanta in 2023 with its first location on West Paces Ferry Road just off Peachtree Road in May which was followed by a second unit along the BeltLine Eastside Trail near Krog Street Market this past August.

Have you been to The Salty?  What is your favorite donut flavor?  Are you salivating at the idea of a Fox Bros BBQ kolache?

This is no more a kolache than a pop tart is a tart
