[EXCLUSIVE] Jim 'N Nick's Continues Cobb County Love Affair

Jim 'N Nick's Community Bar-B-Q is apparently a big fan of Cobb County.  A real estate source told ToNeTo Atlanta months ago that the popular barbecue eatery was looking to open a new location in place of the former Chili's in West Cobb and newly filed planning documents indicate those plans are moving forward.

The new barbecue restaurant plans to open in The Avenue West Cobb (3625 Dallas Highway) where it will replace a freestanding Chili's which closed at the center this past June after about two decades in business.

Based in Birmingham, Jim 'N Nick's is owned by Atlanta-based Roark Capital Group and operates a total of 47 restaurants in six southern states.   Georgia, with 18 units, is the chain's largest market by store count, with Cobb County - already with three locations in East Cobb, South Cobb, and Acworth, and another in nearby Hiram - seemingly fertile ground for the growing chain.

The chain's newest Atlanta area location opened this past October in Covington with another (along with fellow Roark-owned brand Miller's Ale House) planned for 4951 Riverside Drive near The Shops at River Crossing in Macon.  A new Jim 'N Nick's is also coming to Savannah where it will open at 7804 Abercorn Extension, next to a shuttered Golden Corral, in an outparcel of a former Sears at Oglethorpe Mall.

The new West Cobb Jim 'N Nick's will join Walk-On's from former NFL star Drew Brees as new dining options in the West Cobb project.  Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux opened this past August in place of a shuttered Romano's Macaroni Grill.

Are you pleased to hear Jim 'N Nick's is coming to West Cobb?  What chain restaurant do you think makes the best barbecue in metro Atlanta?  What other shops or restaurants would you like to see open at Avenue West Cobb?

Please share your thoughts below.

Jim 'N Nicks is decent BBQ, but it's tough to beat Pig 'N Chick. Fox Bros has too much fat.

Can’t wait! Hopefully it’s a bigger location with full menu like Hiram! 😋

I agree in part With the first poster, fox brothers everything has too much fat, Jim and nicks is definitely decent. I can’t say anything bad although their barbecue and I are definitely not romantically involved, however, pig and chick does not turn me on at all. I prefer old brick pit in “ChamHaven” over Pig N Chik every time.

Delighted to read this about Jim ‘N’ Nick’s coming to West Cobb. A few BBQ places have tried across the street - but offered nothing like JNN. Smoked turkey, Southern Chopped Salad and special biscuits in a comfortable sit down restaurant! Yay!
