[UPDATE] The Forum Peachtree Corners Lands New Persian and Japanese Restaurants

The co-owners of Midtown's El Valle are planning to open a new Mediterranean restaurant in Peachtree Corners.  The new eatery, which will reportedly be focused on authentic Persian cuisine, is planned for the former California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) at The Forum Peachtree Corners (5173 Peachtree Parkway).

CPK closed at the mixed-use development this past March after about fifteen years in business.

The Naraghi family, part owners of El Valle, have partnered with Jamshad “Jaamy” Zarnegar of Inman Park's Kitty Dare to assist in conceptualizing the menu and curating the wine program for the restaurant.  Golestan, the restaurant's planned name, is the name of a province in Iran.

"Golestan, a famous collection of prose and stories from influential 15th century poet Saadi Shirazi, translates to “flower or rose garden.” Playing off this theme, this Persian restaurant will draw inspiration from ancient Persian architecture and culture in its overall design, creating a casual fine dining ambience that feels timeless and contemporary."'

The team plans to completely transform the roughly 5,200 square foot space into a "trendy, welcoming environment."   Golestan will feature an open kitchen to allow guests to witness "the artistry behind traditional Persian fare."

Also joining as a new restaurant at The Forum is Sei Ryu from chef Ranno Wuyan.

Wuyan, a chef with 15 years of experience in kitchens at restaurants in Las Vegas and Boston and locally at MF Bar Avalon and Sushi Mito, is now opening his own.

"Sei Ryu, a high-end Japanese restaurant specializing in appetizers and sushi – including omakase service, available by reservation only – will feature a Zen-like atmosphere with four distinct dining areas: a cocktail bar, a sushi bar, an indoor dining room, and rooftop patio overlooking The Plaza."

Chef Ranno adheres to the Japanese concept of ichigo ichie, meaning to cherish each encounter as it may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The restaurant's menu will include items such as teppanyaki, premium A5 wagyu, and bluefin tuna, along with seasonal offerings, vegetarian and gluten-free options.  Sei Ryu will be open for lunch and dinner with Chef Ranno and his business partner Tai Nguyen aiming to open the restaurant by the Chinese New Year in late January 2025.

The Forum Peachtree Corners, acquired in March 2022 by Avalon developer North American Properties (NAP) in partnership with Nuveen Real Estate, has already made several changes to the circa 2002 property with more planned.

Recent additions to The Forum include an enhanced greenspace with standalone jewel box space with several tenants either newly opened or coming soon.

Cookie Fix, a popular cookie shop from Birmingham, opened their first Atlanta area store at The Forum this past April.

Retailer J. Crew is returning to the development after closing their previous store in January 2018.  The new store, a "J. Crew Factory," is an outlet and is slated to open in October.

French patisserie Sucré, known for its macarons, gelato and unique handmade, French-inspired desserts and sweets is also opening in the project.  The New Orleans-based business entered the Atlanta market with a location on Main Street in Woodstock this past May.  In addition, there is a third Atlanta area location planned for Brookhaven.

Nando's, a popular South African restaurant, is slated to open two locations in metro Atlanta, the first of which is coming to High Street in Dunwoody to be followed by a second location at The Forum Peachtree Corners.

A third "Politan Row" food hall is also on tap for The Forum.  With existing Atlanta locations at Colony Square in Midtown and Ashford Lane in Dunwoody, Politan Row at The Forum will be home to a total of seven independently owned local restaurants.  Thus far, three concepts have been confirmed including 26 Thai, Gekko, a Japanese eatery, and Sheesh, a Mediterranean spot from Charlie Sunyapong and Raquel Stalcup of Stäge Kitchen & Bar and Pêche Modern Coastal, also in The Forum.  Politan Row is currently targeting a first quarter 2025 opening.

Service providers The NOW Massage and LaserAway are also opening in The Forum.

In the years to come, NAP plans for future phases of The Forum to include a 381-unit multifamily community and a 125-key luxury boutique hotel.

Are you excited about the changes and upgrades planned for The Forum Peachtree Corners? Have you been to any of the newly opened businesses? If so, do you have a favorite? What other shops or restaurants would you like to see open in the project?

The Forum isn't a bad place but doesn't seem as attractive as it once was. While it is good to see new locations opening not sure they are all that attractive. Bottom line I'm not sure any of these places would result in me actually visiting the center in the first place.

I went to the Forum this past Sunday to visit High Country and Trader Joes. It was pretty bustling with lots of people walking around shopping and too many people driving up and down the main center drive looking for that perfect parking spot. Trader Joes was mobbed. I couldn't wait to get out of there right after walking in.

Was expecting more high end retail like Avalon. Seems to be primarily restaurants.

I liked the Forum the way it used to be when it first opened. I understand they had to make changes cause so many stores closed including a lot of national chains. I stopped going once the construction started and not sure I am going to go back.

I am from Atlanta, born and raised here. I love the diversity coming to The Forum. We recently got Henri’s ( an Atlanta institution) just north of The Forum, so it’s great to get more local restraints and businesses joining Peachtree Corners. Not sure the future housing and boutique hotel will fit but it’s nice to see upgrades and fresh activity at The Forum. I’ve lived in Peachtree Corners since 1990. I love the activity and we no longer need to go to my old neighborhood of Buckhead to get a decent meal! Bring it on! And Gluten Free options really help those of us who are Celiacs. A big Thank you!

PTC is very family friendly. I have lived in this area since 1998, and so many popular businesses have come and gone. They are replacing a chocolate/gelato place with. french gelato shop - shocker, one didn't make it! Why are we getting another sushi place? There is 1 at the Forum and 3 within 0.2 miles.

Diversity. Family Friendly. Please don't take away all of the parking and flood it with apartments. Thanks.
