[CLOSURE ALERT] Breakfast Eatery J. Christopher's Shutters Peachtree Hills Restaurant

Atlanta based J. Christopher's has closed their restaurant in Peachtree Hills.  The breakfast eatery, located at 10 Kings Circle, opened in 2017 and was the relocation of their former restaurant at 3050 Peachtree Road (Two Buckhead Plaza), less than two miles away.  Their former location is now home to the popular Thai eatery Chai Yo.

When J. Christpher's opened, it replaced Paul's, from chef/owner Paul Albrecht of Pano's & Paul's, which had closed at the end of 2015.  Philippe's Bistro, from Chef Philippe Haddad, was another earlier occupant of the space.

The first J. Christopher's opened in Marietta in 1997.  Today the locally owned-chain includes 19 locations in Georgia plus one in Franklin, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville.  The owners of J. Christopher's also operate a sibling brand, Reveille Cafe, a so-called "coffeehouse cafe," which includes seven locations in Georgia (some converted former J. Christopher's) plus one in The Villages, Florida.

Bradenton, Florida-based First Watch, a similar breakfast eatery, entered the Atlanta market in 2012 with the purchase of two J. Christopher locations.  The restaurants, in Johns Creek and Smyrna, were subsequently rebranded and reopened as First Watch restaurants in 2013.  At the time of the purchase, it was reported that the Florida company also acquired the right to purchase the J. Christopher’s brand, concept and all intellectual property, contingent on certain developments, but that never came to fruition.

For its part, First Watch has since its Atlanta debut in early 2013 expanded to 20 locations around the state and more than 500 around the country.

Are you surprised J. Christopher's closed its location in Peachtree Hills? Where would you like to see J.Christopher's open next?  What is your favorite local or chain breakfast eatery?

Whenever I would go near this Peachtree Hills location, the foul stench of grease coming from the exhaust. vents was strong enough to gag a buzzard. I still miss The Pub from days of yore.

The Roswell location on Alpha hwy closed and reopened as Reveille Cafe a couple months ago. It’s a nice place good food and service..

Since Corks & Cellars was forced out of their location across the street I wish they'd return & take over this space. Miss them badly!

Glad to see it go. To have a beloved restaurant that served lunch and dinner with a great upstairs outdoor area be replaced by a run of the mill breakfast place was a blow to the community. Hoping someone will come in that will fit the neighborhood and utilize the outdoor area.

This is my hood and not surprised at all, they did very little business except for weekends it seemed.

Nice spot for a Hookah bar. That or another chicken strip restaurant. Can't have enough of either of those ITP.

The Pub only had the foul stench of puke from out back from all the drunks.

You seem to know all the good spots for hookah. If you were really smart you’d have opened them all up by now and be a millionaire. But instead you’re just a racist dumbass.

Ideal spot for an adult dance club

I vote for a hookah lounge/recording studio combo. What could go wrong?

Don't laugh, a hookah bar/recording studio is well within the realm of possibility.

How is advocating for Hookah considered racist?

J. Christopher's as a whole has gone downhill in the last year. Several formerly good locations are now terrible and I would not be surprised if they closed.

Someone please reopen Georgia Grille there!

Wasn’t that the ladies clothing store from the 1980’s? Odd choice for that location…

See Grille vs Girl.

Unless that was a joke. In that case, well played.
