[BOOM!] Savage Pizza to Open New Locations in Several Suburban Spots

Popular intown eatery Savage Pizza is looking to grow and has the suburbs on its mind.  Established in Little 5 Points in 1990, the local pizza shop celebrated for its retro, superhero-themed environment, later added an Avondale Estates location but has for many years been just the two units.

A new Kennesaw location will celebrate its Grand Opening August 24 with both a Norcross and an Athens location in the works.

In Kennesaw, Savage Pizza is opening in Town Center Oaks, a small strip center on the edge of Town Center at Cobb.  The new Norcross pizza shop will be located at 7 Jones Street in a space that has since 2003 been home to Paizanos, another local pizzeria.  Steve Josovitz of The Shumacher Group closed on the sale of Paizanos to Savage Pizza Thursday.

According to the Savage Pizza website, another shop is planned for Athens, but its exact location is not identified.

Documents filed with the Georgia Secretary of State suggest that the then two-unit Savage Pizza was sold by founder Myron Monsky to new owners in 2020.  It seems that it was this ownership change that was the catalyst for the sudden growth spurt.

The expansion into new markets is a thrilling milestone for Savage Pizza,” said Nipul Patel, Managing Partner. “Savage has had an incredible journey over the past two decades, and we’re eager to share our passion for pizza and superhero fun with new audiences across Georgia. Each new location will embody the spirit and excitement of our original restaurants while offering fresh experiences tailored to the local communities.”

To celebrate the Kennesaw opening, the first 10 people in line on August 24 will be given "Free Pizza For A Year" (one free one topping pizza per week until 8/23/25).

Are you excited about the expansion of Savage Pizza?  What is your favorite local pizza shop?  Do you worry about Savage Pizza's growth and the owner's ability to maintain consistency?

Savage actually started in VAHi in the early 90's on Virginia Ave right near Briarcliff.

Did you mean people OTP will be too scared to eat somewhere that originated in the dangerous ITP? Or people ITP will be too scared to eat there if its now also OTP (i.e., no longer cool)?

Sure it's OTP, but the Pizza market is oversaturated in Kennesaw.

I really enjoy their BBQ chicken pizza and I live in Kennesaw so I'm thrilled with this news. Also, Paizanos was overrated.

Also sad to see Rotisserie shop die. They were good up until the end when the screwed over a friend of mine during their last days.

Putting a location in Athens seems like a smart move. It should fit the vibe, depending on the location. Hope it works out for them.
