The Flying Biscuit Cafe has closed its restaurant at Parkaire Landing in East Cobb. The restaurant was among the eateries in East Cobb that announced Friday they were closing due to weather concerns from Tropical Storm Helene. In a Facebook post announcing the Friday closure, the restaurant indicated it would, in fact, not reopen.
East Cobb News was first to report on the closure.
Flying Biscuit opened at the Kroger-anchored center in March 2021, then closed several months later due to an ownership/management change. The restaurant reopened in August 2022.
It’s the second time a location of the Atlanta-based breakfast and lunch franchise has failed in East Cobb. Flying Biscuit occupied an outparcel in the Publix-anchored Woodlawn Commons Shopping Center until its closure in May 2010. The outparcel was built as a Donatos Pizza, and later converted into a Mama Fu's Asian House, before it became The Flying Biscuit. The structure was later demolished and rebuilt as a Chase Bank.
Flying Biscuit's roughly 3,000 square foot endcap second generation restaurant space will likely be a hot commodity for food-service operators looking to enter the East Cobb market.
Following the East Cobb closure, there are currently fifteen Flying Biscuit locations across Georgia, as well as locations in Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Texas.
The Flying Biscuit website indicates that there are also new locations coming to Castleberry Hill and Macon. The Castleberry Hill unit, at 118 Centennial Olympic Park Drive, was first revealed in early 2019, when it was announced to be opening by the end of the year. As of late 2020 the Castleberry Hill restaurant was slated for a "Winter 2021" opening, according to a company representative. The website now suggests it will open in "2024" followed by Macon in 2025.

I am surprised it closed, the other locations around town are always so busy!
It’s not all that it’s made out to be. Like all restaurants they are inconsistent with food quality and service. Better than J. Christopher’s. Customer can get better food and service at Waffle Hiuse.
Yep
This location was honestly horrible. The staff and food were not up to par of other locations.
All restaurants are inconsistent then, even Waffle Huise.
The one at Toco Hill is equally bad!
Canvassing launch for Sharon Cooper held there last weekend was the final straw.
Oh they ran out of straws? Drink coffee instead then. Instead of pop.
