[ALERT] Popular Food Truck Meatballerz to End Operations

One of the OG Atlanta area food trucks announced that it will close this coming November after ten years in business.  Meatballerz, owned by the daughter and mother duo of Cara & Cathy Delalla made the announcement on their Facebook page.

The Delallas previously operated a compact brick & mortar at the PREP facility on Presidential Parkway near Spaghetti Junction but that already closed.

"Hello Meatballerz fans and followers, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closing of the Meatballerz family of Food Trucks at the end of November. We have loved serving all of our amazing customers over the last decade and will truly miss each and every one of you. We urge you to get out and support us while you still can. Thank you for 10 great years!"

Meatballerz offered "Italian food with a twist," including their famous meatball sandwiches.  The Delallas, who operate both Meatballerz and Meatballerz Pizza food trucks, did not provide a reason for the closure.

The meatball eatery is at least the third PREP based business to shutter most or all of its operations in recent years following the closures of beloved eateries Little Farmhouse Cafe (2022) and Hot Chickpeas (2023).

Have you had food from Meatballerz?  What is your favorite Atlanta area food truck?  Where is your favorite food truck destination?

Probably getting too expensive to operate. People are questioning spending big dollars on food from a truck compared to actually going to a restaurant where they can sit down in comfort

Unpopular opinion but not a fan of food trucks. Food always seems so overpriced for the amount of food you get. I don’t feel like I see as many around as I used to and the food truck park at Howell Mill closed forever ago, so maybe the food truck bubble has burst?!

I agree with the other commenters. With some exceptions, the era of food trucks seems to be over. The novelty has worn off and you’re paying more to not even have a comfortable spot to eat in many cases, while also often not receiving much. I feel like the best case for food trucks is like a situation like The Coop has where they are partnered in some way with and stationed inside Zoo Atlanta.

Hot dogs, pretzels, ice cream, and tacos make the best food trucks because they usually meet the expectations on both sides of the transaction.

Food trucks have gotten to be too expensive but Meatballerz was always worth it! I will miss their spicy meatballs in the hole. That bread was like nothing I ever tasted! And great fries too! Say it ain’t so!
