Buckhead's Piece of Cake is on the move! The popular cake shop and bakery is moving from its current and longstanding home in a freestanding building at 3215 Roswell Road to a space within Buckhead Court (3872 Roswell Road), just under a mile away.
Cartel Properties, which owns the existing Piece of Cake property, is already marketing it for lease. In the offering, the firm indicates that a new daycare is coming to the former Buckhead Saloon property next door which it also owns, but which has sat vacant since an October 2022 fire destroyed the building.
The planned move comes just over one year after Atlanta-based Chicken Salad Chick acquired what was then the 10-unit Atlanta bakery business. There are currently eight standard bakery locations - Buckhead, Camp Creek, Collier Road, Decatur, Dunwoody, Johns Creek, Kennesaw and Vinings, plus a licensed location on Terminal A at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Piece of Cake has over the past year or so closed two locations, one, a "pop-up shop," on Peachtree Street in south Buckhead and another on North Point Drive in Alpharetta. The North Point shop, located in Stone Walk at Northpoint, was perhaps the only location situated in a space next door to an existing Chicken Salad Chick.

Piece of Cake was founded in 1985 by Melissa Bunnen Jernigan, who continues to serve as the company’s “Cakexpert.”
Sources close to the bakery tell ToNeTo Atlanta current plans call for a nearly seamless transition from one location to the next shortly after the first of next year.
ToNeTo Atlanta reached out to representatives for Piece of Cake [Chicken Salad Chick] regarding the Buckhead shop and plans for potentially more stores, but did not receive an immediate reply.

Roswell Road is more of a "Piece of Hookah" location.
Then don’t go there. If it’s too scary for you to go somewhere like that, then stay home and make a Betty Crocker cake.
I like their white chocolate cake and their red velvet. In some ways I think they should focus on the locations they have and having their cake slices in Chicken Salad Chick like they currently do. Not sure expanding is the right thing. I've always found their Buckhead location to be their best one.
Their whole cakes from this Buckhead location were good when my office would get a bunch for the monthly birthday celebrations. The caramel cake was to die for! But then I tried the Dunwoody location, and the products were dry and overpriced.
What happened to the John’s Creek store? Moved or just closed?
He doesn't go there. He values his life.
Their cakes have gone seriously downhill. I don’t know what they have changed but we recently bought a cake that was so stale that I returned it after we cut one slice. While there, I spoke to another customer who had a similar experience. The replacement cake was not particularly good either, so I’m not going back.
people ‘dat’ get triggered when calling out crime, hookah, lousy service, etc…are probably part of the problem….gnowhaommsayin?
The people the smoke hookah make him scared. Like a ghost
"The people the smoke hookah". Please put the hookah down and get some help.
Same. Publix cakes are much better than Piece of Cake.
We've been less than thrilled about the last couple white chocolate cakes we've bought from Piece of Cake. Not sure if our tastes or the cakes have changed but we've kind of decided its no longer worth the cost and effort.
You must be choking on dry cake.
Johns creek is still there. Alpharetta at North Point closed
