[ALERT] Rreal Tacos Growth Spurt Continues with New Location Planned for Duluth

At a time when many restaurants seem to be fighting for survival and others seems to be rethinking expansion, Rreal Tacos, which specializes in "authentic Mexican street food," is at it again, opening a new location in Decatur and completing another deal that will bring it to Duluth.

The new Rreal Tacos in Decatur, located just off the square at 312 Church Street, is slated to open Monday February 10.  The new taco joint opens in place of what was most recently a franchise of Ponko Chicken and before that was Atlanta's sole location of Steel City Pops.

In Duluth, the owners of Rreal Tacos have acquired Nacho Daddy at Parsons Alley.  The Atlanta outpost of the Las Vegas concept opened at the downtown Duluth project in February 2019 but was listed for sale by Steve Josovitz of The Shumacher Group this past fall.  Josovitz announced the sale of the business Friday.

Located at 3095 Main St., Suite #500A, the restaurant is about 3,900 square feet plus a 1,500 square foot rooftop patio.

Adrian Villarreal opened the first Rreal Tacos at the Skyhouse South apartments in Midtown in December 2015.  Villarreal eventually sold what then still just one restaurant to business partners Damian Otero and Miguel Hernandez in 2021, at which time Villarreal became Culinary Director at Rye Restaurant Group.

With the budding chain having grown to seven units, Villarreal rejoined Rreal Tacos as its Culinary Director this past June.

Th other Atlanta area locations of Rreal Tacos are: Midtown at 100 6th St. NE; West Midtown at 1000 Northside Dr. NW; Chamblee at 5070 Peachtree (Industrial) Blvd.; Sandy Springs at 227 Sandy Springs Place, NE; Cumming at The Collection at Forsyth at 410 Peachtree Pkwy., Sugar Hill at 5000 W. Broad Street, and Buckhead at 3365 Piedmont Road in Tower Place.

The Decatur restaurant marks the eighth overall for Rreal Tacos, which in addition to Duluth, has others already planned for Lawrenceville and in Old Fourth Ward along the Beltline in 2025.

Have you been to Rreal Tacos?  Are you pleased to see the locally owned business expanding so much?  Where else would you like to see Rreal Tacos open?

I love this place. I have visited the one in Chamblee most often. The food is good and uncomplicated. I have tried birria at tons of places and I prefer the flavor profile of theirs the best. The birria quesadilla is amazing.

"Street food". Dreadful description IMHO. That being said, I've heard that Rreal is Rreally excellent.

Nacho Daddy just failed it's health inspection. Hope they're rebranding under new management.

But Houstons on Northside Dr got a 100! Eat there instead.

Someone explain the desire to eat at these white people taco joints where you pay $17 for 3 tacos? Actual Buford taco places cost $2-3 a taco and taste way better

Where in Buford? Near Mall of Georgia?

I've had Rreal Tacos and it's pretty good but too expensive. I think that person meant Buford Highway not Buford. I like Don Pedro in Norcross, that's my favorite taco place in the metro Atlanta area.

If you want cheap tacos, go to Taco Bell or Del Taco and get on with your life.

yep, Don Pedro has creeped up over the years but it's still under $3 per taco. I think it was around 1.19 when I started going there around 15 years ago. It's waaay up Buford Highway.
