[UPDATE] Shake Shack Opening at The Battery Atlanta

Shake Shack plans to open its newest Atlanta area restaurant Monday June 30 at The Battery Atlanta.  The new restaurant will be unlike any the New York-based brand currently operates with a full bar and expansive patio as well as mini arcade area.

ToNeTo Atlanta was first to report on the planned opening this past November.  The new Shack Shack replaces Wahlburgers which closed in November after more than seven years in business.

As we hinted at in our original report, the opening is to occur in time for the 2025 MLB All Star week due to begin July 12 in Atlanta and with the All Star Game played July 15 at Truist Park.

The Wahlburgers space at The Battery is likely familiar to Rob Lynch, who last May was named Shake Shack's CEO, having been poached from Papa Johns, whose headquarters are at The Battery.  Shack Shack also confirmed earlier this year that it will open its third overall "restaurant support center" at The Battery Atlanta.  The company will occupy more than 25,000 square feet of office space and include a state-of-the-art test kitchen and multiple training and meeting places next to the Coca-Cola Roxy.

Shake Shack, which got its start as a food cart in New York's Madison Square Park in 2004, has today grown into a publicly traded company with more than 350 locations across the country and more than 550 worldwide.

In metro Atlanta, Shake Shack currently operates eight units: Buckhead Village District in Buckhead, Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody, EDGE on the Atlanta BeltLine in Old Fourth Ward, Concourse A of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Lenox Square in Buckhead, Alpharetta Crossing in Alpharetta, Piedmont Park, and at Westside Provisions District in West Midtown which opened in December 2022.  The Westside location, as at The Battery, replaced another burger joint: YEAH! Burger.

burgers are not bad but are too small for the price. They are closer to sliders.
