A new location of popular ice cream shop MeltAway is coming to Brookhaven. The new ice cream shop is opening in Brighten Park (2480 Briarcliff Road), where it will occupy a space near Cava in front of anchor Lidl.
In addition to their ice cream, MeltAway offers a variety of housemade cookies and assorted drinks like Chai Tea Latte, Thai Tea Latte, Matcha Green Tea Latte, and Fruit Teas.

At just 680 square feet, the new MeltAway is less than half the size of the Alpharetta location, suggesting that production will be handled off-premise.
The new ice cream shop marks the return of a frozen dairy treat to the center for the first time in more than a dozen years. TCBY previously operated a shop in Brighten Park (then Loehmann's Plaza) for more than two decades before its closure in early 2013.
MeltAway has more than 130 reviews and an overall 5 star rating, with many reviewers lauding the friendly owners and calling the ice cream "phenomenal," "amazing," "fantastic," "incredible," and "excellent." The business is owned by a local Vietnamese husband and wife team.
As described on the company's website: "MELTAWAY is a premium dessert shop specializing in handcrafted ice cream made in-house using all-natural ingredients and freshly baked cookies made daily. Our small-batch ice cream is free from artificial flavors and preservatives."
Plans call for the new MeltAway to open in the coming weeks.
