Dallas, Texas-based la Madeleine Country French Cafe plans to close its location in Sandy Springs. The restaurant, located at 1165 Perimeter Center West, Suite 330, will close for good as of 4pm on Saturday January 24, according to employees at the restaurant.
It's unclear what may be in store for the 4,500 square foot space, but sources tell ToNeTo Atlanta that at least one growing restaurant brand is already vying for the space.
La Madeleine is a division of Dallas-based LeDuff America (the American arm of French restaurant conglomerate Groupe Le Duff). LeDuff America also includes casual concepts Mimi's Bistro & Bakery (fka Mimi's Cafe), which had a location at nearby Ashford Lane that closed in 2017 and later reopened as HOBNOB. Mimi's also once had a location in Buford near the Mall of Georgia.

For its part, la Madeleine has in years past closed (or abandoned) several units around metro Atlanta.
La Madeleine previously closed metro area locations in Buckhead (now home to Velvet Taco and Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream), in Marietta (now Overture Powers Ferry 55+ apartments), and in Vinings (now Stockyard Burgers & Bones). ToNeTo Atlanta reported in December 2014 that la Madeleine was planning to open at Phase Two of Emory Point, but that location never opened. Mimi's no longer has any locations in metro Atlanta.
Following the Sandy Springs closure, la Madeleine continues to operate three locations in metro Atlanta: Duluth near Gwinnett Place Mall, East Cobb in Providence Square shopping center, and Buford near the Mall of Georgia. There are also several kiosk locations at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

I’m sad to hear this. I love, LOVE their potato galate. It’s so delicious and I have enjoyed it for many years!!
ReplyDeleteI’ll have to drive to East Cobb to get my strawberries Romanov now. 😢
ReplyDeleteI can’t believe it’s closing…it’s always busy.
ReplyDeleteThat has to be one of the oldest active restaurants in that perimeter corridor. Joey Ds might be older
ReplyDeletePut in a wet-lemon-pepper wing joynt.
ReplyDeleteOh is it because Joy dish soap is lemon scented?
DeleteI used to love their food but lately it hasn’t been up to par. The pastries are delicious but their other menu items were not that good anymore.. tasted so cooked from frozen. Was once served frozen pizza to to my grandson and we vowed not to go there anymore.. I wonder what would take its place!?
ReplyDeleteThey don’t sell pizza so why did they sell you frozen pizza? Was it like someone’s groceries that they were storing in the freezer till they got off work?
DeleteUsed to be on Ashford Dunwoody before there was a perimeter center west. Loved it.
ReplyDeleteNope, never was on Ashford.
DeleteWe were just there Thursday and commented to each other that we definitely wanted to start back going there again . Tomato basil soup , chicken salad and mini quiche among our favorites! I hate to read this
ReplyDeleteI’ve never been to Sandy Springs. I remember when Vinings location closed. It was horrible. Filthy. Poor management and service. Now, I’d mark Marietta for closing soon as the last few times we have been…about 1 time per year in last three years just to see if it had improved ………and the management is worse than ever. They had one competent employee…a teenager who should have been running the place. Everyone else was a sloth who was waiting for the person next to them to work, the manager was only concerned with feeding herself, the bread was put in little envelopes and was so stake that it had to be 3 days old. We used to love it, now we have gotten very sick 2 of the last three times we’ve gone. Time to call the health department.
ReplyDeleteJust another example of the horrible economy “Sleepy” Joe Biden caused. We’re all having now to suffer the consequences of his incompetence
ReplyDeleteThat's a ridiculous comment

DeleteAnd Little Donnie Twump is doing absolutely nothing to eradicate rampant inflation.
DeleteOMG! Are they going to put a chicken restaurant in it's place??? That's all Atlanta wants is more chicken!!! Especially chicken strips!! No more overrated salty Zaxby's and bland raising cane!! Bring back SWEET TOMATOES!! No more damn chicken with hot sauce and blu cheese! 🤮
ReplyDeleteTrumpflation!
ReplyDeleteWorked at Honey Baked over the holidays and that location was always very busy right next to us! Nice staff that was always willing to help us with products if we needed them and even sent staff over to help on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving our busiest day.
ReplyDeleteWhile I love the East Cobb location I don't have high hopes for it in the future either. Service has been up and down for several years now (mostly down) with terrible management/staffing
