Another week, another Arby's closure in metro Atlanta. This time, it's the Arby's at 2555 Piedmont Road (officially along Sidney Marcus Boulevard) in Lindbergh Plaza. The restaurant is due to close for good at the end of service Thursday, April 2.
ToNeTo Atlanta reported March 23 that the Arby's at 2382 North Druid Hills Road had shuttered as of the close of business on March 22. In February we reported that Arby's had closed units in East Cobb, Duluth, and Emerson.
Arby's, owned by Sandy Springs-based Inspire Brands, has seen several metro Atlanta units close in recent years, including those in Roswell, Alpharetta, Albany, Milton, Buford, Chamblee, Sandy Springs, Downtown Atlanta, Buckhead (Chastain Park), and Suwanee.
The latest closures come on the heels of those in Marietta along Cobb Parkway this past November, and in Chamblee along Peachtree Boulevard this past December.
In years past, Arby's have also closed on Spring Street in midtown, Vaughn Road in Kennesaw, South Cobb Drive in Smyrna, Metropolitan Parkway in Atlanta, Windy Hill Road in Marietta and LaVista Road in Tucker, as well as food court locations in Northlake Mall in Tucker, at CNN Center (now The CTR) Downtown, and Lenox Square in Buckhead, among others.
ToNeTo Atlanta reported in October 2024 that Arby's had closed its longstanding restaurant on Roswell and Wieuca Roads in Chastain Park. This past June we reported that a new location of Fifth Third Bank is planned in its place, with actual renovation work having only recently started.
Despite all the closures, the company and its franchisees continue to operate about 3,400 restaurants worldwide.
Remaining Atlanta area units include those on Howell Mill Road in Atlanta, Hammond Drive in Sandy Springs, State Bridge Road in Johns Creek, and Scenic Highway in Snellville.
Are you surprised to see so many Arby's close across metro Atlanta? What would you like to see open in place of the soon to close Arby's at Lindbergh Plaza? What is your favorite quick-serve restaurant (QSR)?

Bye Bye Arbys! Get it before it’s gone forever. Haven’t seen any commercials lately either and they used to be on TV all the time.
ReplyDeleteWow. Every time I went they seemed busy.
ReplyDeleteI do think with the closing of Kroger across the street the Lindbergh area needs a grocery store. There are non within walking distance. To me this would be a perfect spot for a smaller neighborhood grocery store like an Aldi’s or a Trader Joe’s
They’re never going to get another grocer in that Kroger spot. Maybe never get anything.
DeleteWill never happen unless the city addresses the crime and homelessness in Lindbergh. In other words, it will never happen.
Delete1000% agree with this in regards to crime. A few weeks after the Kroger closed I parked my car in the Kroger parking lot on a Wednesday. When I came back on Sunday my windows were shattered and my laptop iPad and a bag with several hundred dollars cash was gone. I reported it to both Kroger regional management and the property landlord and they did absolutely nothing. Still angry about it
DeleteThere are already two Trader Joes and an Aldi nearby. Besides, there ARE groceries nearby. Target has groceries and there is a Publix on Cheshire Bridge, basically in walking distance, and another Publix and Kroger at Ansley Mall. This area is not a food desert at all.
DeletePublix wouldn't attempt anything there, even if they needed a presence in the area.
DeleteThe Chevron has groceries
Delete10:35am I also parked my car there and then went out of town for the weekend. I left 3 Rolex’s on the dashboard, two Mac Book Pros and two iPads on the front seat, 50 $100 bills laid out individually on the back seat and the keys in the ignition and doors unlocked. Someone took the entire car and only left behind a bottle of Anacin I had in the glove compartment. I simply couldn’t believe that could happen! I called the authorities and they didn’t do anything, didn’t even take a report, they just laughed. And the property owners told me to fu&k off! The nerve! I’ll never park in their empty parking lots again! That’ll teach ‘em! Hmmph!!
DeleteWhat the f*ck is going on with Arby's? This totally sucks. Screw Inspire Brands.
ReplyDeleteSalata or a good Chinese or Japanese restaurant
ReplyDeleteWhataburger!
DeleteThink it's time for Arby's to really look at its business and figure out how to move forward. Not sure if what's going on in Atlanta is an anomaly or if this is happening in other cities as well. People are eating fast food less and while Arby's definitely differentiates itself from other fast food, that differentiation clearly is not different in a positive way. Figure it out before the business is gone.
ReplyDeletePast time, I'd say. I guess it's the new demographic that wants chicken, chicken and more chicken. Ironically ,Arby's has the best chicken sandwich out there. Maybe they need to try wet, lemon pepper chicken.
DeleteArby’s on South Cobb is still open. I just got a fish sandwich from there this month
ReplyDeleteYes. It's right next to a car wash. At this car wash you pay less but you have to clean the interior yourself. I like driving a clean car but I don't really like cleaning the interior myself.
DeleteI like eating roast beef sandwiches but I don’t like making them myself. Sounds like we could be friends?
Delete@1:37, pay no attention to the POS troll @ 5:28
DeleteCrime area drove the business and Kroger out
ReplyDeleteOh, I want to try the sandwiches there tonight!
ReplyDeleteI would get bad food poisoning from just eating the curly fries at this location… good riddance.
ReplyDeleteI walked in and took a breath and immediately had diarrhea.
DeleteI have a feeling Arby’s is in trouble
ReplyDeleteI am in hopes we can get a nice casual sit down restaurant in that space. The space is too small for any kind of grocery store, but a little Italian restaurant like we use to have in Il Bacio would be great.
ReplyDeleteMy belief is Arby's did not close because of crime. Nobody was stealing roast beef sandwich's over the counter. This is a restaurant chain repositioning for the future and this location did not fit their future vision.
And of course we have the obligatory "Trader Joe's" post. BARF.
ReplyDelete@Food poisoning from fries. That's not how it works. If you "would get bad food poisoning from just eating the curly fries" others would have too. I think what you're saying is that their food doesn't agree with you. Food poisoning is literally some sort of bacteria in the food. That doesn't just hit one person.
ReplyDeleteDon't feed the trolls.
DeleteThere's another Arby's on Main St Snellville
ReplyDeleteThey had such good Marketfresh sandwiches when they opened. Too bad they have to go now. I’d be happy to see a Fazoli’s.
ReplyDeleteWe have another Arby's closure. The Arby's in East Cobb (2161 Roswell Rd, Marietta, GA 30062) is closed. It was in the outbuilding in front of Harbor Freight.
ReplyDeleteSaw them carrying out the big wheels of roast beef today, trays of buns and and big cans of cheddar sauces.
