[EXCLUSIVE] Asian Fusion Restaurant to Join The Grove on Trabert Avenue

The owners of Old Fourth Ward's Ruby Chow's are bringing the popular eatery to the Westside.  The second Ruby Chow's will be located at 739 Trabert Avenue, a stone's throw from Monday Night Brewing's The Grove and along the future Atlanta Beltline expansion trail.  

Business partners Mike Blum and chef Guy Wong opened the original Ruby Chow's at 620 Glen Iris in the street level of the Ponce Springs Lofts across from Ponce City Market on February 20, 2020.  The full-service Asian Fusion restaurant features assorted steamed buns and sushi along with classic Sichuan Chinese dishes like Dan Dan Noodles and Vietnamese dishes like Shaking Beef along with Lobster Fried Rice, among its offerings.  

"Ruby Chow's is inspired by the legacy of Ruby Chow, a pioneering Chinese American restaurateur and civic leader, whose name became part of Asian-American culinary history and a symbol of unforgettable hospitality and cultural pride."

Brian Seo, a veteran of 26 Thai Kitchen and Nan Thai Fine Dining, joined Ruby Chow's in 2024 and will serve as General Manager and beverage director of the new restaurant.  

The group seems undeterred by the recent challenges in West Midtown and are looking to recapture the spark of their previous concepts like The Original Chow Baby and Le Fat. 

Measuring nearly 5,100 square feet, the new Ruby Chow's will be a good bit larger than the roughly 3,200 square foot original location with sixty dedicated complimentary valet parking spaces to accommodate the restaurant's patrons.  

The restaurant is being opened in a space that was previously an office so the group enlisted the expertise of Elizabeth Ingram Studio to transform it into the chic Asian fusion restaurant.  Pending permitting and typical City of Atlanta shenanigans, plans are for Ruby Chow's on Trabert to open next summer. 

Ruby Chow's along with Monday Night Brewing's The Grove, which officially debuted last August, are the first two elements of what is expected to be a significant development of both new and adaptive reuse projects being planned on/around Trabert Avenue, due in large part to the upcoming Beltline extension.
