Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft has closed after more than sixteen years in business. The upscale Thai restaurant first opened at Brookwood Place (1745 Peachtree Street) in January 2010 and closed permanently Sunday August 2, reportedly without advance warning to employees or patrons.
When Tuk Tuk opened, it replaced Taurus, an American restaurant from former Canoe chef Gary Mennie. The restaurant space is about 9,000 square feet and includes a first floor lobby and a second floor dining room and patio.
Tuk Tuk was opened by the Niyomkul family and was part of their Tamarind Restaurant Group which includes the popular Nan Thai Fine Dining in Midtown as well as Nan Thai Buckhead, which opened in Buckhead in 2024 in place of what had been the group's Chai Yo Modern Thai restaurant.
The group previously operated Tamarind Seed Thai Bistro at Colony Square in Midtown, but after "temporarily closing" in 2017 with stated plans to reopen two years later, it never did.

There’s barely anything left here. What started as a fairly nice small format Kroger and Borders center with Regions Bank and Spa Sydell and a host of other small tenants is now mostly a big parking lot for Chipotle.
how can you get a refund if you have a gift card to Tuk Tuk?
Not surprising , the whole area has gone totally ghetto.
Just went for my birthday a. Week ago.
Save that for your Klan meeting. Sorry to see the place go. I enjoyed it because the parking was easy and the food was consistently good.

Stop it, because the person who commented the first above comment deserves a refund and/ or other people who got a gift card to Tuk Tuk they can no longer use because this restaurant abruptly permanently closed on Sunday, August 2, 2026 without any warning to its workers if nothing else.
Tuk Tuk Food Loft was a VERY special place to me and my family over its run. With great Thai food served creatively and that commanding view of downtown/Midtown from its patio high above Peachtree, it hosted important family events from meeting my now son in law to birthdays with friends and grand children’s first dining out. I am sad and send the Niyomkul family many thanks for delivering a top restaurant experience in Atlanta’s Brookwood neighborhood.
this is sad. my wife is Thai and Tuk Tuk was one of the few Thai places that she will willingly eat at.
