[ALERT] Spread Bagelry Bringing its Bagels to the Beltline

Spread Bagelry is growing its presence in metro Atlanta.  The Philadelphia-based brand known for its bagels which are kettle-boiled in honey water and baked in wood-fired ovens, is slated to open next year at Common Ground (820 Ralph McGill Boulevard) along the Atlanta Beltline Eastside trail in the Old Fourth Ward.

The new bagel shop - referred to on the Spread website as "Midtown Atlanta" - will occupy a small portion of the former 30,000 square foot Illuminarium space left vacant this past June when the experiential venue closed after five years in business.  The Spread space is situated at the corner of the open air hallway, adjacent to Azara.  Popular restaurants Two Urban Licks and New Realm Brewing are also located at Common Ground.

ToNeTo Atlanta exclusively reported on the brand's initial entry into metro Atlanta in July 2025 and subsequently first shared news of their Buckhead outpost opening in February.

The Buckhead location - 47 Irby Avenue in the Buckhead Village - currently serves as the company's local production facility, supplying fresh, wood-fired bagels to area shops until Spread Bagelry’s regional commissary comes online.  Spread Bagelry also has regional locations in Savannah, Charleston, and Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

Trendy New York bagel shop PopUp Bagel also made its Atlanta area debut in February, about a mile away from the upcoming Spread, along the Atlanta Beltline, a stone's throw from local favorite Emerald City Bagels.  PopUp added a Buckhead location in May, and as ToNeTo Atlanta exclusively reported in August, plans to add a Midtown location near Piedmont Park in 2027.

For its part, Spread Bagelry plans to continue its growth throughout metro Atlanta with upcoming locations reportedly also in the works for Marietta/East Cobb and Dunwoody.

Are you excited for the opening of Spread Bagelry along The Beltline?  Do you prefer a New York, Montreal, or another style of bagel?  Where else in metro Atlanta would you like to see Spread Bagelry open?
