[EXCLUSIVE] Chipotle Scores Another Space For Continued Atlanta Expansion

A former Korean and Mexican fusion eatery in the so-called "Upper Westside" is finally getting a new tenant.  The former Yumbii in the Publix-anchored Moores Mill shopping center has been leased to Chipotle Mexican Grill, according to planning materials reviewed by ToNeTo Atlanta.

Yumbii Moores Mill abruptly closed along with remaining sibling locations in Midtown and Toco Hills this past January.  Their roughly 2,900 square foot space will now become metro Atlanta's latest Chipotle location.

The former Yumbii restaurants in Toco Hills and Midtown remain vacant.

Chipotle already operates several locations nearby including one at the corner of Howell Mill and Collier Roads and another at the corner of 17th Street and Northside Drive.

As a company, Chipotle currently operates 138 locations across the state, making Georgia the chain's eighth largest market by unit count.  California and Florida are the chain's largest markets with 536 and 330 locations, respectively.

Elsewhere in Moores Mill, a roughly 1,400 square foot space left vacant by the July 3 closure of Spiller Park Coffee remains vacant and available.  The locally-owned coffee shop closed after a little more than four years in business, but locations in Toco Hills, Ponce City Market, South Downtown, and Midtown remain open.

Are you excited for the opening of Chipotle in Moores Mill?  What is your favorite burrito shop in metro Atlanta?  What would you most like to see open in place of the former Spiller Park in Moores Mill?

  1. First Chipotle stops supporting the Boy Scouts. And now they've come out with this "Bigg Ass" television commercial. Disgusting.
