Moondog Pub & Grub, which opened in Chamblee in November 2024, has announced that they are closing. The restaurant, located at 5077 Peachtree Road, was situated at the edge of the Chamblee Rail Trail but away from the epicenter of downtown Chamblee.
In an Instagram post announcing the closure, owners Tommy and Felicia Burda said in part:
"We have done our best to make this business work but have finally accepted the reality that it will not. As a family, we cannot continue to make a large personal investment month after month with no end in sight. We thank you for your loyalty, your good reviews, your friendship and your smiling faces."
The restaurant had a better than average 4.7 star rating on Google but only 274 reviews which could indicate that the restaurant was not attracting enough customers (new or otherwise) on a regular basis to remain in business.
Moondog offered a robust beer selection and twice-monthly karaoke from Outspoken Entertainment.
The restaurant is expected to close Friday October 30.

Too bad they couldn't make a go of it, it sounds like a place I would've liked to have gone to, if I were still going out.
