[EXCLUSIVE] La Parrilla to Open New Restaurant in East Cobb

After hearing rumblings of a new La Parrilla happening in East Cobb earlier this spring, we have now confirmed that the locally owned Mexican spot has in fact signed a lease for a new location at The Avenue East Cobb.

The new La Parilla is slated to open next summer in place of Tin Lizzy's (and Tin Pin Game Bar), which closed this past December at the lifestyle center at 4475 Roswell Road.

A source close to the property indicates that renovations are expected to begin soon on the roughly 5,000 square foot space with the goal of opening next summer.

The very first La Parrilla opened on South Marietta Parkway in Marietta in 1994 and today the group has expanded to twenty locations around Georgia plus two locations in Alabama, and one in South Carolina.  In addition to the original location, the chain's other Atlanta area locations include those in Acworth, Canton, and Dallas Highway near the Avenue West Cobb.

In addition to the East Cobb location, ToNeTo Atlanta exclusively reported last November that another La Parrilla is coming soon to Buckhead Station in Buckhead where it will replace a former On The Border Mexican restaurant.  Renovations of the Buckhead restaurant started far later than we had heard they would - as a result, its opening has been delayed, too.

News of La Parrilla's opening at The Avenue East Cobb follows the announcement in September that Jeni's Ice Cream is opening in place of Press Waffle Co. which closed in its jewel box space at the center's greenspace in February.  The new Jeni's marks the Columbus, Ohio-based company's thirteenth location in metro Atlanta and fourteenth overall in the state.

Are you excited for the addition of La Parrilla to The Avenue East Cobb?  Are you pleased by the changes made to The Avenue East Cobb in recent years?  What other types of shops or restaurants would you like to see open in The Avenue East Cobb?

Please share your thoughts below.

La Parilla is a pretty good concept - food and service are usually pretty good. It's nothing spectacular but they do a fine job.
