Onward Reserve Banking on Buckhead

Onward Reserve is coming to Buckhead.
Athens, Georgia-based Onward Reserve is a men's gift and clothing retailer.  The first location opened on East Clayton Street in Athens about a year ago. Their Buckhead location will be on Peachtree Road sandwiched between Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams and The Fish Hawk. The new location will be about the same size at the Athens location and is currently scheduled to open by the end of the month. Having peeked in, I'm thinking the shop will likely open closer to mid-to-late September.

Onward Reserve stocks some items similar to Mountain High Outfitters, whose Atlanta location is within the Publix-anchored West Paces Ferry Shopping Center.  Other items / brands Onward Reserve stocks are in line with their neighbor, The Fish Hawk.  Some of the brands include Vineyard Vines, Filson, YETI Coolers and Peter Millar.  The store also carries smaller local brands like Rowdy Gentlemen  and Cotton Brothers, as as well as its own branded merchandise.

Onward Reserve's owners also operate an online-only site called Five Mile Club.  The site is similar to Gilt, and at times offers exclusive and/or limited quantities of select merchandise at reduced prices for its "members."

Onward's neighbors Chuck's Firearms and The Fish Hawk would seem to offer great retail synergy, but alas, it may be short lived, at least on Peachtree. Sources tell me that both Chuck's and The Fish Hawk, in addition to Onward Reserve will relocate to retail space currently being configured within the Early Street space that formerly housed Pearson's Liquor & Fine Wines.

Loudermilk Companies, owner of both the existing and new locations of the boutiques, has not yet publicly disclosed their plans for the Early Street property, but a retail component was always an integral part of their concept, according to local sources.  The group has a number of active and planned Buckhead Village projects. Their Peachtree Road property where the three retailers mentioned currently are located, as well as an adjacent vacant lot, have long been earmarked for redevelopment, likely for office and/or residential purposes.  Local sources say the retailers are all on month-to-month leases, and that their relocation will likely occur after the first of the year.

Are you excited for these retail changes in Buckhead?  Have you shopped Onward Reserve in Athens?  What retailer would you like see added to Buckhead Village?  Please share your thoughts below.
