Waffle House Has Sandy Springs Covered With A New Location

(Building shown at a time when Queen's Garden Gallery was open)
Waffle House has found a new home in Sandy Springs.

Norcross-based Waffle House has found its new home in Sandy Springs and it's not far from its current restaurant.  Waffle House, currently located at 230 Mt. Vernon Highway, will relocate about a half mile away to 6445 Roswell Road.  The new location is just north of the current location and sits adjacent to Persepolis Persian Cuisine

I had speculated that the former Arby's, also not far away on Roswell Road near Abernathy might be an option, but apparently it lost out.

The current Waffle House location was purchased for $1.15 million by the city of Sandy Springs for future development of their city center and downtown projects.  The long since relocated former Mellow Mushroom building was also purchased for $400 thousand and will be razed for the city development as well.

The new Waffle House will be built in place of the shuttered Queen's Garden Gallery, a 7500 square foot building that some locals say used to be some sort of restaurant.

The current Waffle House will close no later than January 1, 2014 and I'd expect for the new Waffle House to open sometime late in the first quarter of 2014.
