Big Boss Chinese Still Coming!

Guy Wong is still opening Big Boss Chinese, but in a different location than was previously announced.

Big Boss Chinese will open at 312 Church Street in downtown Decatur.  Big Boss was previously slated to open at the intersection of Church Street and East Ponce de Leon Avenue, but those plans have since been scrapped.

Big Boss, previously announced to be 2200 square feet, will instead be 3300 square feet.   The restaurant will open not far from Sapori di Napoli and the new Victory Sandwich Bar.

Big Boss will reportedly feature a karaoke bar to counter the bocce ball offerings of Leon's Full Service.

Big Boss, an ode to the 1971 Bruce Lee film of the same name, will feature authentic Cantonese cuisine and be a full service restaurant.  The kitchen will be helmed by Guy's uncle who is relocating from China to open the restaurant.  Guy will cook part time at Big Boss, but will remain full time at Miso. The restaurant will also feature dim sum and other Chinese favorites.

Guy has been one of the most popular local chefs, better known in local foodie circles than in the public eye like some others.  After a number of delays, Guy and partner Mike Blum brought Yum Bunz to the Westside.

Guy still has in the works both TON TON Ramen + Yakitori Bar  and Rickshaw Kitchen Stand.

Big Boss is slated to open next fall, with the openings of the other restaurants to be determined.

recently had a chance to try yum bunz, and while it wasn't quite what i'd expected (IE needs more dumplings!! shrimp!!) it was pretty good. too bad i don't live near the westside, or i'd go more than once in a blue moon.
