Goodwill Getting a New Home in Sandy Springs

The front doors of the new Goodwill were painted blue earlier this week
Goodwill is on the move in Sandy Springs

The Sandy Springs location of Goodwill will soon relocate. Goodwill, currently located on Johnson Ferry Road in a former Harris Teeter/A&P, is moving about a mile away to Sandy Springs Village at the corner of Abernathy and Roswell Roads.  The thrift store will occupy the former Staples, that was most recently B&R Thrift Store.  The new Goodwill will be about 26,000 square feet.

Adjacent to the new Goodwill is a nearly 14,000 square foot space that previously housed the Sandy Springs Fun House, and is likely to now be more attractive to prospective tenants.

Goodwill's current location will soon be razed, (as was the adjacent former Target store previously), to make way for the new Sandy Springs City Center.

Plans call for the transition to take place "soon," likely within the next 60-90 days.

Nearby, Marshalls will soon close their store in Marshalls Plaza to relocate to Hammond Exchange where they will occupy a former ROSS Dress For Less.  The new Marshalls is scheduled to open November 13th.

Any ideas on if and where the B&R may be relocating to? I much preferred them to either area Goodwill (the other being just down Abernathy a couple of miles, in the former Circuit City spot across from Perimeter Pointe).

Will be ever get B&R Thrift store back? Goodwill prices aren't really that great.
