ToNeTo Atlanta has been your number one source for updates on the Atlanta market entry of Raising Cane's and we are pleased to report that another Raising Cane's is coming to town! A new Raising Cane's is slated to open in the fast food desert that is Snellville.
The new Raising Cane's joins Miller's Ale House, which opened July 31, as well as upcoming locations of Whataburger and a new drive-thru format from City Barbecue, in the new project. Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A operates a restaurant about a half mile away at 1559 Scenic Highway. If all goes well, the new Raising Cane's will likely open during the first half of 2024.
After having just one location in Georgia for many years, the chain expanded from Athens to include a new unit in Dacula this past March. ToNeTo Atlanta exclusively reported July 27 that Raising Cane's plans to open its newest Atlanta area location August 22 at 3300 Buford Drive near the Mall of Georgia in Buford. The Snellville location would mark the third Raising Cane's in Gwinnett County.
In addition to the Gwinnett outposts, another Raising Cane's is planned along Highway 92 in Woodstock in Cherokee County.
For those unfamiliar - aka non "Caniacs" - of which there don't seem to be many, Raising Cane's features a very simple menu with a focus on fried chicken tenders. Menu offerings also include a fried chicken sandwich, crinkle cut fries, Texas Toast, and coleslaw, an item famously eliminated from the menu at rival Chick-fil-A in early 2016.
ToNeTo Atlanta is tracking several additional Raising Cane's restaurants including one close to the perimeter and another, that if the stars align, could be the first to penetrate the perimeter and actually be within the city of Atlanta.
University of Georgia graduate Todd Graves along with his business partner Craig Silvey opened the first Raising Cane's in Baton Rouge near the LSU campus in 1996. Graves, who worked for Guthrie's (which proudly claims to be "America's Original Chicken Finger Restaurant") while in school in Athens, would later return to the Classic City in 2006 when he opened a new Raising Cane's on land that had been home to Guthrie's from 1984 until its closure in 2004.
Ranked by Average Unit Volume (AUV), Raising Cane's is typically second, just behind Chick-fil-A.
Earlier this year the company surpassed 700 Raising Cane's restaurants across 37 states. In 2022, the company said it planned to open at least ten locations in Georgia in the coming years.

They will be competing with a very good Chicken finger restaurant chain, Huey Magoo’s, which has a location on Atlanta Hwy in nearby Loganville.
Wake me up when PDQ comes to town. Now THAT's a bougie chicken tender experience.
It is hard to get too excited about fired chicken in the South. I suppose if I find myself in Snellville I might stop in to see what all the fuss is about.
I've been waiting YEARS for Cane's to come to Atlanta! Had it several times in Louisiana and couldn't figure out why it wasn't in Georgia.

If you like raising canes, you need to check out super Chix in Dunwoody. Their chicken tenders are highest quality and taste is perfect. Their fries that are fresh cut in. The store are perfect as well. They also have chicken sandwiches several of them the most current one that’s rotating is a super pastrami chicken breast sandwich, woo hoo
And they give free Canes at Christmas to the kiddys!! Candy Canes and you can raise em up right!

I enjoyed eating at this establishment in Las Vegas on W.Tropicana. The view was outstanding. White hookers, black hookers, Mexican hookers, lot lizards, old ones, young ones. You name it I saw it. They should have run a cross promo with that business across the street! I'm sure the Dunwoody/Alpharetta husbands that frequent Las Vegas for "business trips" know exactly what I'm talking about!

You have totally go this Todd Graves "BIO" so wrong. He went to LSU and worked on oil rigs and Fish boats not in Athens at a Guthries.
