Valentino Coming To Phipps Plaza

Apparently Valentino has chosen SIMON's Phipps Plaza over rival Ben Carter's "The Streets of Buckhead" development. Valentino will be located in the Sak's wing between Elie Tahari and Giorgio Armani. Expect an official announcement in the coming weeks, and for the store to be open by late summer-early fall.

Confirmed 4/3

It's interesting that many of the large luxury brands are bypassing The Streets of Buckhead and heading to Phipps and Lenox instead...

The problem may be that many luxury retailers are hesitant to move in or commit to an unproven property. Phipps and Lenox record as a pair upwards of a billion dollars in annual sales and have a reputation as being the Mecca of shopping for the south.

Good point. Do you think TSOB's location has anything to do with it (seems easier to hop off 400 and get to Lenox/Phipps)?

I LOVE your site. Keep up the good work! Thanks!

In part yes, the open air concept of a shopping center / mall has worked for "The Falls" in Miami and for various other properties in California and Hawaii, but Buckhead... Atlanta is different and I think retailers are realizing that now. Hermes was first to sign on and since, we have seen Oscar and Bottega, but others have chosen Phipps/Lenox instead.
