H&M Likes It ITP, Opening Fifth Location at Cumberland Mall

Swedish clothing retailer H&M is said to be opening a two story retail location at Cumberland Mall in Cobb county this fall. Mall management was careful not to confirm an opening when we called, possibly because construction has yet to start or maybe it's the fact that their mall operator filed for bankruptcy. If opened, this will be H&M's fifth location in the metro Atlanta area and second for beleaguered mall operator General Growth Properties. According to a Repeat Atlanta reader, neighboring stores are being asked to relocate in anticipation of the would-be H&M. Cumberland Mall has never really lived up to its potential, but there's hope that if H&M does open, it will be the catalyst needed for the mall to build on its weak retail offerings and supplement is vastly improved dining options. No word yet on whether promotions run for the previous H&M openings will be instituted for this opening, but rest assured, as soon as its decided, we will make it known. Repeat Atlanta!

Actually, Cumberland Mall is ITP. Nice to see the improvements continuing at this mall. Perhaps the people who live around it in the million dollars homes will once again start to shop there.

Thanks! The change has been made.

Awesome. Hopefully some of the urban clothing stores that dominate the mall will close to make room for this.

Are they going to have Men's clothes? The only H&M store in Atlanta that has men's is Atlantic Station and it's pretty minimal compared to stores in other cities. Why the dis? Men buy clothes too.

H&M insiders alluded to the Cumberland Mall location carrying both men and woman's, though this information has yet to be released. One would think with the amount of space H&M will be renting, it is only preparation for both men and women's clothing. Though I agree with the fact that men shop, the disconnect is that women do more shopping. In order to maximize profits, retailers must optimize space. Atlantic Station H&M carries both men and women's because the space is more than adequate.

I'm pretty sure that the H&M will carry both mens & womens. Usually if an H&M is 2 stories, it carries men's clothes also. But Besides Atlantic Station, the H&M at the Mall of GA (even though its far for a lot of people) carries mens clothes also.

Interesting!

When it comes to men’s clothing the first thought which sparks in my mind is designer jeans. Anything will be suitable with designer jeans might be tees, shirts, jackets or blazers. Men in designer jeans look cool and handsome!
