Ormsby's and West Egg Joining Abattoir in White Provisions

Rumor has it that longtime Atlanta area restaurant and bar owner Warren Bruno is planning to open a new eatery in West Midtown. Said to be located in the recently completed White Provisions redevelopment on Howell Mill Road, "Ormsby's" could open as soon as mid-September. Described as a "laid back tavern," the new eatery would be situated under the new Room & Board . One of the more interesting elements of the new eatery is that it is to include games like pool and shuffleboard along with typical bar fare and a wide assortment of beers. Presumably, this opening will be around the same time of the West Egg reopening. The local favorite will be taking a larger space next door in the same development. Additional details forthcoming. Repeat Atlanta!

what is going to happen to the current west egg building??! It's real unfortunate that they are moving... the location right now has so much character. I talked to their owner and they said that they didnt want to move! I guess they were forced out... hopefully not for moore parking!

Too many restaurants are going into that area! TDS and Figo are lunch (and dinner for that matter) staples. Star Provisions does great at lunch. JCT is still killing it and has created quite a loyal fan base. Between 6 feet under, 5 seasons and Flip all in spittin' distance prepare to watch some of these restaurants fail. I heard Abbatoir is terrible BTW. The people that can afford to go there don't want beef tongue and sweetbreads. They want filet and seabass.

With the rising population in that area, i am definitely interested to see what happens with West Midtown. Yes, a lot of restauants are going in there, but it has become a destination- people will go there to eat. Also, with all the condos/apartments going up, it will help to transform this area. It's one of my favorites in ATL.
And there are a LOT more restaurants than that as well... you'd be surpised how much is there already.
And, concerning Abbatoir, I dont who you got your information from, but I ate there on one of the opening nights and had one of the best dining experiences. You might not want sweetbreads, but i know a lot of people who would!! The location and decor of the restaurant is perfection (as with every other one of her restaurants)and the food is interesting, creative, yet simple. I went back another time and had a little louder, less-perfect experience, but still one of my new favorites...

The White Provisions is one of my favorite developments in Atlanta and Im really excited abouit all that's happening there and in West Midtown.
