At Long Last, Brick Store Pub Grant Park Opening

Brick Store Pub, currently with one location in downtown Decatur, is soon opening its long awaited second location in Grant Park. The Pub will occupy an older building at the corner of Ormewood and Confederate Avenue in what is becoming a hot spot for cool eateries. Opened since 1997 in Decatur, the Pub has become not only a neighborhood favorite but a place for out-of-towners craving a variety of hard to find draught and bottled beer. Owners Dave Blanchard, Mike Gallagher and Tom Moore opened sister establishment Leon's Full Service this past February at which point the new Brick Store location was put on hold. Leon's is now up and running, and the group moved forward with its plans for the Grant Park site. Having recently applied for their liquor license, it's only a matter of time before Grant Park residents their very own Brick Store Pub. Repeat Atlanta!

Does anyone know when it's going to open?

Completely off the subject, I am offended that we still have a road called Confederate. I'm going to complain.

Oh jeez!!!! Get over it. It is a road. I think that all of roads in Atlanta named after infulential african america people cancels it out. I think there are too many other issues Atlanta needs to address before they worry about changing yet another road name.

On a better note...YAY for Brickstore. I have been saying for so long that I wished that place would turn into a bar....I swear I am not a lush.

It's been noted on the EAV Buzz and the neighborhood I-neighbors list that it will be 1-2 years before it opens... I'm still hoping!

Susykm is correct in saying that opening is far off. According to the owner it may not be till next fall that the place opens. Applying for their liquor license was just that, something to have out of the way for opening. As it notoriously takes forever to get it done, especially in city of Atlanta, they will focus on other aspects of the build out now.

it's a step in the right direction! Looks like we're getting the new place next to 6 Feet in the Jane on Memorial as well, woo hoo!

I think I'll write home about it.
