Perimeter Steps Out With Addition of Rockport

Perimeter is at it again, this time signing Rockport for a 1st level retail space. Located in the Bloomingdale's wing a few doors down from Lacoste, the store will most likely be open in early to mid May. Earlier this month, I announced that Rockport would be re-entering Lenox Square after a multi-year absence. With a second store now in the works, something must be going right for Rockport. Perhaps its new corporate owner Adidas is breathing new life into the brand? Bostonian just closed its doors at Lenox, although a Clark's of England retail store at Perimeter.remains. In related news, Simon Property Group has submitted a $10 billion buyout of Perimeter's parent company, General Growth Properties. Along with Perimeter, General Growth's local holdings include North Point Mall, Cumberland Mall and Southlake Mall. If this deal goes through, it will enhance Simon's choke-hold on the national retail landscape as they acquired both Prime Outlets and The Mills in recent years. You can bet I'll be following this closely and share details as I get them.

The Art of Shaving next to Bloomingdale's is closed for remodel at Lenox, and the store next to Energie/Miss Sixty closed earlier last week as well (not Forever Diamonds, it was a clothing store.. not very well known though).

Yes, saw the remodel sign on Art of Shaving. Looks like they will be open again by May. As for the store next to Energie / Miss Sixty, it was Makins. A glorified "Know Style" of sorts, so glad to see Lenox rid itself of that retailer. A better logo than Know Style, but still, had NO business being in Lenox Square.
